  7. Terry, With the hand signals - - -I drive with a bright hunter orange glove on my left hand. The folks behind me may not know that I am signaling, but they do relize that sometyhing is going on. I have an orange glove in all of my cars that don't have turn signals. You should try signaling in a right hand car. That is another experance. The pasenger gets to ware the orange glove then. Dan
  8. You might go to the Bakersfield swap meet next month. That is a pre 1942 swap meet and there will be brass lights there.
  9. 3Jakes What has been said here is correct, but there is another side to ACA. Almost all what has been said here is about National Meets and Judging. Those are only a part of the AACA. National meets are great, but if it wern't for the local clubs there would be no national meets and judging. Check out the local clubs and find out what the grass roots are all about in AACA. They do a lot more than just judge cars. Dan
  10. Dave, Get involved with the Rocky Mountain Region of AACA there in Denver. Brighton has an active group also. They have some really nice people. There is an AACA region In Ft. Collins that is good also. The Region in Ft. Collins is hosting a tour the 1 - 3rd of June in Ft. Collins that you might enjoy. That would be a great place to meet others in your area that belong to AACA. Dan
  11. West, Why do they call a Model T Ford or any of the early open cars a touring? Most are not a seven passenger.
  12. Hal, Yea, he told me to buy 100 sheets of 320 grit paper for a project I was doing. Steve, Being Contrary comes with not living in the east, <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" /> besides Wright's was recomended by a professional restorer that you and I both know. <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> He swears by it.
  14. The Army used that vehicle and they called it a M-38. The hard cover was used on some of them when they were in cold weather areas.
  15. I use Wright's Brass polish for the brass on my car. I have found that for me it is better than Brasso. I use a soft toothbrush where needed.
  16. Don't laugh, but have you tried J.C. Whitney? They have a lot of paterns fron years gone by.
  17. Another museum that has some great vehicles as well as aircraft is the Owls Head Museum in Maine. That was one of the best museums I have seen. The vehicles are well restored and displayed. It is outstanding. My son went there for one of the days when they had the aircraft out and flying and the cars out. He couldn't say enough about it. The New England Air Museum sounds like it is a grat one also.

  19. Ted, I don't know where you get you information. I live in Wyoming, but I know of at least 6 antique car museums in Colorado, 3 in Nebraska, 3 in South Dakoda. I know I have been to at least 5 or 6 in PA when on national tours. Right there that is more than a dozen. OK folks, how many are there in your area ?
  20. Fred, I am sure you are right about the stripes. I have never seen them with 5 stripes. The side curtains will be the same material as the top. The reason they looked darker is because they were not faided like the top.

Doug, I don't know of any car museums that offer free admission to folks driving old cars but there have been a few that have given reduced admission, which is still better than paying full price. I have run in to some museums in small towns that have given free admission and they were real happy to have the old car folks stop. I think it would be a great idea to do that with car museums. It just might get more folks driving the old cars. After all, cars were made to be driven, wern't they? Remember that "Touring Is Not A Specator Sport" Dan
