  1. So to help out others what I did find out is that NC offers a toll pass for non commercial use that you just purchase a tag for how many axles you have. In my case it would of been 4 axles and its accepted on all the east coast toll systems
  2. Thank you for the photos, What a great show. So many great cars all in one place.
  3. OK Great to see you again, And thank you, Ill show you the picture next time I see you of that car that made me say that ,
  4. Thank you did we meet in Charlotte
  5. Thank you Steve , And once again thank you for all the hard work you perform for the club ,
  6. Does anybody have the photo directions that come with the letter you get if your car gets nominated for a national award , last week end at the Charlotte show , I was chatting with a Member about the additional national award, and he never heard of the national awards, I explained the national Judges are at every show and they meet just after Hershey and they send out letters asking for pictures to be sent in and then the judges meet in December to decide what cars get the awards . I explained before you put the car away make sure he gets 2 photos , 1-3/4 front and one 3/4 rear , does any one have a copy of the photo description requirement they can send me so I can send it to him
  7. Good Luck, Are you mechanical? I ask because any used trailer you need to pull the hubs and inspect/service the wheel bearings, I purchased a 2022 used trailer, I pull drums to service and found all kinds of sins I had to deal with . I ended up having to replace one of the axles because of bad threads on the axle from the last guy who serviced it . Enclosed is the way to go if you have enough truck to tow it , I just attended the Grand National and got 3 chips from the ride there on an open trailer
  8. WOW what a great show, Getting to see the Zenith award cars in person all in one tent was great. Getting to meet the owners was fun also. Walking the show field both days seeing all the cars. WOW , Where can you see so many great cars in one spot . I always explain to folks who have never gone it "Its The Best Of The Best" cars on display. Also after meeting and chatting with so many folks who had their cars on Display, I was surprised at how many of the cars were in families since new, and they are keeping and displaying the car in honor of a past family member I want to say Job Well done to the national folks, Job well done to the Hornets nest club, and Thank You also to all of the volunteers that made it happen , The poor folks freezing Saturday morning trying to park cars at day break . How great was it to have the Dual show Talk about a great value being apart of the club and all you get as a club member and then all you get when you display your car . As always my only complaint is at the award ceremony by the time we get to category 25 or so the room is so loud with folks chattering its hard to hear who won what .Once your category is read if you cant be quiet ,Leave the room. No matter how many time the chief judge asks for quiet with in a few moments it rises again. and if he raises his voice above the crowd they just raise theres above him . Thank you Again . I am already looking forward to our next event in Upstate NY in June
  9. So I am traveling from NY down to Charlotte with a dual axle open car trailer . I have EZ pass and Sun pass . With all of these un manned toll plazas What do I need to do for the trailer . Do I need a special toll pass .
  10. Roger good luck going to the next national, I hope you have a great time,
  11. Thank you both for the information, Greatly appreciated , I will see you folks at the next event
  12. I am looking for a sample of the individual judging sheet for ,Exterior, Interior, Chassis , That a judge would be using at a meet . I allready found the one for engine on page 42 and the summary sheet on page 78 of the 2024 judging manual , can any one point me in the correct direction . And i just noticed on the summary sheet on page 78 that notes that its "for junior cars only" What is different between the sheets for a Junior, senior, preservation, or repeat preservation , and then is there a different sheet for a vehicle competing in a Grand National . and Thank you in advance for sharing the knowledge
  13. My first convention , I really enjoyed the awards ceremony , I liked the short commentary read about the car. The National Judges did a great job picking out these cars as they looked to be the best of the best. Congratulations to all of the winners, And congratulations to all of the folks who were nominated
  14. I just registered at the Hershey lodge at a discounted rate from a link in this months speedster magazine . Looking forward to see ing every one and they're cars.
  15. So for the last few business days I been calling the Hershey lodge, and get put on hold . I am going to try again to book this week . I am trying to get a room I got in the past
  16. THANK YOU ! I am booked . it will be here soon. Just put new tires on the trailer for the trip
  17. Well this is not what I understood . I thought they could deactivate it from there phone , I did not realize they had to physically handle it . the one in my car would be impossible for a stranger to put they're hands on with out disassembling the car
  18. Thank you all for the input, In the past I have used Cables thru the Tire spokes around the spring pirches. tongue lock, if trailer stayed connected to the truck I would wind my jack down to put tension of the jack and then remove the jack handle , I will continue to do what I can to make them have to work to steal it , but I am going to put in some sort of tracking on the trailer and on the car. And YES I allready have an air tag hidden in my car , but I plan on getting a real time tracker with alerts and a long battery life. THere are so many of them on amazon from 35 dollars to 300 dollars . and a monthly fee . I am going to take a chance and just purchase one and see how it goes.
  19. I have a bunch of air tags , But they alert other I phone users there is a local tag and its being tracked and a person once alerted can disable it . Good for a bunch of things but not good for tracking a stolen item as a savy person can disable it . Thank you for the input
  20. I just purchased a used 20' Open car trailer . I am getting it ready for my journey to the Grand National In Charlotte this year. We have all heard the horror stories of a trailer and car being taken and I just heard one about a piece of construction equipment left on-a trailer in a parking lot for snow removal that got stolen last night. So I want to plan ahead and invest in one for my car and one for the trailer . Not that I am expecting to be stolen ,but just like we carry a Fire extinguisher and first aid kit I want to be prepared That being said I would like on line tracking that I can set up alerts if its moving and just log in to see its were I left it battery powered so it can be hidden Affordable to purchase and monitor Does any one have and suggestion on a product your using
  21. SO I have to say, If I had the ability to have 2 different cars at this show , with only a 90 minute drive , I would go for it . Looking forward to the show and seeing what you decide to bring
