1967 Red Deville replied to Pat Buckley's topic in AACA - Shows and Tours
As always Thank you for the update . Its going to be a long winter before the first show of year Charlotte -
@Corey V Thank you and your badge looks perfect against the black grill, Did we load our trailer together on Sunday Morning @James Matthews Thank you , that Charlotte seams like a no brainer . its a great location, with a giant show going on inside the track. Some great cars show up , I am going to see if I can make the same trip as last year , few days in Charlotte and then down to Florida for a week.

I received mine in the mail Friday 10/25 . I could not get it on the car fast enough . I am looking forward to trying to earn a senior tab for this car
-
Sorry you did not receive it I have no particular information on your car , But this is what I know about DPC I know we are supposed to fill out our sheet with any changes or modifications and sign it, Have it readily accessible ,Hood open , Fire extinguisher in sight ,if its a repeat the original Badge must be mounted in sight. When I leave my car ,I put right on my Windshield card at the bottom ,I put my cell on the card and say I am out on a judging team and to call with concerns. I only got called once to say its raining and would I like them to close hood and trunk , I love your sign, I seen your car and it looked great . those cars are Iconic
-
Congratulations , Post up a picture of your car with its Grill Badge on . Bring a hand truck to carry your new trophy ,its Heavy

I am just back from Clearwater Florida. We have a snowbird condo there about 10 minutes from the beach . We received water damage from part of our roof getting blown off our 7 story condo building , I had to tear out drywall in 2 room and throw out 2 beds. and allot of cleaning in the scheme of things a MINOR PROBLEM BUT the Surrounding area every road has piles of debree along the road. Seamed like every wood or plastic fence is knocked over. one in 10 house is missing its roof covering and is boarder up. As you get near the water line is worse. the houses are destroyed and all the contents are out at the road. Sand piles every wear. We had to take our stuff to the dump and there were several ones an hour wait to get in to dump . giant wood piles trees and branches , Giant piles of appliances, giant piles Mattresses. its overwhelming the amount of destruction i seen in the last 4 days. I pray for these people its heartbreaking to see

National Awards Announcement timing in 2024

We'll thats quite an honor for him . And thank you and Congratulations to you for getting a member signed up . I carry applications in my trunk Along with a sign that explains a little about the AACA and its awards at every show or car cruise I attend . And if he got his letter last Monday that answers my question that the letters went out after Hershey -
Is it my understanding that Hershey is normally the last National show of the year and just after Hershey the National Judges decide what cars will be nominated for a national award. I see this year 10/23 thru 10/26 we have the South Easter Fall National in Huntsville Alabama . Will they now push the nominations for the national awards back till after this show .

Thats a great Idea ,I wonder how simple that could be

I want to go back some how they have to make Friday longer, there is just not enough time in the day to see all of these great cars , I Did not get to see everything .
-
Thanks for another great Hershey week!

I seen your car , YES its a treasure, I just love those Greens and Browns from the 70'S especially on a full size car. Are you part of the local region? https://midhudson.aaca.com Mid Hudson Region AACA I am a member there . Thanks for bringing the car out -
Motorized vehicle's WOW talk about taking advantage . I used to go to an old Swap-meet and you used to have to register any motorized cart. I think we need that here and then some sort of policing . It was bad enough to have one almost run you over, but the absolute worst where the dopes who drove them across the bridge . 2 full size golf carts on the ramps trying to get by each other while the people who really needed the ramps could not get past the carts . a small electric mobility scooter is resonable , these carts were not . People talking during the banquet HOW RUDE, by the time they get to class 24 the noise in the room is not reasonable the soft whispers become a full conversation. By the time Stan got to class 27 I could barley hear peoples names and the louder Stan Got the louder the room gets. I had all I could do not to walk over to the table next to us to ask them if I they wanted me to ask Stan to be quiet so they could finish there conversation, its really selfish and rude to talk while this is going one. You want to talk go to one of the many other places other then the banquet room.
