  1. Indeed they did! I struggled with heating then soaking that damn heat riser and no movement! Okay I said the hell with being an purist, let’s move this project along…hence unit installed just like it was. Thanks Joe
  2. After much struggling with trying to free up my heat riser, with nothing accomplished……….I have decided to reinstall with it open! Thanks for the all the advice thanks joe
  3. Thanks for reply. I usually drive up till the snow flies, then put her away till spring. So that involves some cold morn starts. I would like it to be as easy to start as in warm weather. If I can stay original I should install a working heat riser. The one I just removed is frozen open, I am now soaking to see if I can free it. Are you aware of any rebuild kits available or better yet a NOS heat riser maybe? Thanks Joe
  4. I know this an old thread, but………I need to find a heat riser for my 1965 Buick riviera, 401 engine any help would be greatly appreciated thanks Joe
  5. My Riviera has installed on it an edelbrock carb. I am confused though.. my stator and detent switch is not connected. Is it a kick down? I got some advice from the nailhead guys and they sent a switch plate. For the life of me I cannot figure it out and how to correctly install. Is there any other source I could find that info? Thanks
