  1. I did those searches and find very very few with photos or steps on a 54. I saw 1 55 that he took the entire rear end out on a lift. It's my understanding I can do from jack stands by shifting the rear back BUT I dont know what to disconnect to gain that distance on a 54
  2. You missed my question you called it a VULCANIZED TORQUE BALL so I am confirming you meant the retainer and they also don't make some sorta Vulcanized Torque Ball ITSELF?
  3. Hello all, I am about to embark on my 1954 dynaflow torque ball seal kit and need some help. I have seen the youtube out there for the 1958 but we do not have the same suspension on the torque tube. So my question here is to be able to get the rear end to slide back on a 1954 Buick Century what do I need to remove to be able to slide the rear end back 6 inches here? I could not located that old Buick magazine article many reference

  7. Thanks for the heads up I have found some good prices and parts on RockAuto and OldBuickParts websites. Looking forward to getting her 100% and running like a champ again. She runs good now but previous owner is older and gave up on her 2 years ago.
  8. Thanks all for the input here I will take them in to be inspected and cleaned up / Resurfaced. I don't really want to drop $400 on new drums if I can just get these cut
  9. I will be there but might be on my harley....I get her home this saturday from Fincastle(been waiting on hauler to pickup) I am gone from 13th to 17th in ATL. So I gotta find free time to register her and have dang bureau clear her for registration since its out of state vintage
  10. John The person I bought the car from has no history on it and got from original owner's estate sale. I have my mechanic doing new wheel cylinders, shoes and springs as I just dont trust what is on there now. I may be able to have them cut but will see. Over all I plan to put all new original parts on car over the next 12 months so I know on a long haul they are less likely to fail me vs some 68 year old parts
  11. I recently purchased a 54 century and want to start with the most important part first the brakes. I can find every part but the brake drums. I found maybe 3 sites total that have them around $115 each and was curious if there is a reason they are super hard to find yet the shoes, cylinders and other parts are all over
