  1. Hi guys, I’m really glad to hear that y’all are still interested in giving these a good home. We still really don’t want to take them to the scrapyard, but we also don’t want them to sit and rot without someone being able to get anything worth saving off of them. Plus Dad is also staring down the barrel of making some serious home & shop repairs, not to mention the county changes I mentioned earlier. I’ve been talking to Dad about your offer, and he was hesitant at first mainly because of having to drive up to Athens twice. It’s not terribly far, but the mileage adds up when you’re pulling a trailer. But then when NC-car-guy responded with his additional offer (which is much appreciated!) he started thinking of it really seriously. We’re now working on figuring out how and when to get them up to Athens. It may be February before we can get them up there - I work in an Accounting firm and we’ve been working late and on Saturdays to get 1099s out before the deadline at the end of the month. Lamar, if you don’t mind PM’ing me a good number to contact you, either my Dad or I can get in touch with you when we get past January and are able to get the cars up to Athens. Again, thank you both for the offers!
  2. My father is itching to start cleaning everything up. If there is no longer any interest, we’ll be taking everything to the scrapyard within the next couple months.
  3. Sorry for the (really) slow reply. If you’re interested in one or both of the cars, I’ll be happy to hold them for a little while if you know you might be able to find time to come get them, or if someone can come get them on your behalf. I absolutely don’t want to scrap them, but as far as I know no one reached out to me besides the comments here so I couldn’t tell if there was any serious interest. I know these cars are rusty, but I also know that there are some useable parts left, and both Dad & I would be super happy to see the cars get some sort of use. Let me know if you find time to come down and buy them, and I’ll arrange my schedule accordingly.
  4. Price reduced. $300 each car, $300 for doors & trunklid, or $800 for all as a package deal.
  5. These are still available, and we’re open to offers. Somebody come get ‘em! Our county is working on getting stricter on having “junk” cars in the yard, and I’d really hate to have to haul off everything to scrap because our county told us to. And yes, the three-speed is still there on the Special. I also realize I forgot to mention the the radiator, fan shroud, and air cleaner (we’ve kept the carburetor covered) are missing for the Special, but the Century has all those.
  6. I'm trying to find a new home for a pair of 1954 Buicks and some extra parts that my father has. He's had the Special for a long time and hoped to restore it with me, but we both have more pertinent priorities and have decided to clean up and get rid of them. The Special is mostly complete, only missing the front seat and possibly the trim that would go under the right rear quarter window (can't find it). The headlights, taillights, and other trim are all with the car (just removed). Dad purchased the Century to have some extra parts; it's basically complete but does not have the engine. Both are pretty rusty in the usual places, and the Special has rear end damage from an accident. The Special is the more solid of the two, and might have a chance to be restored with a lot of determination. Also to note: the Century is a Dynaflow car (transmission is included) while the Special is a three-on-the-tree. We also have an extra pair of doors and a trunk lid for the Special, and all are solid and are in good shape. We would love to find someone who could use these cars & parts - neither of us would like to send these cars to the scrapyard, since '54s seem to be disappearing and these still have some usable parts. We would part these out, but neither of us really have the time to do so, so we're just selling the cars whole. I'll be happy to provide more pictures and/or answer questions about the cars. Location: Macon, GA, USA Asking price: $300 per car and $300 for the doors/trunklid; $800 package deal for all. Contact information: Mark 478-784-9304. Please leave a voicemail and I'll get back to you ASAP. You can also message me here. Thanks!
