  2. That's great! What kind of car are you talking about?? What do they look like?⁸
  3. If you are truly interested in the original legislation, look it up yourself since it's so easy. Belly aching because someone else doesn't do what you think they should is never a solution. Do a little research yourself and let us know how this article is biased.
  4. Volkswagen's '60's print advertising was even better..
  5. ...other than their foreseeable relegation to museums and scrap if a viable solution is not found. 2010 vintage cars will be considered "antiques" by 2035, 25 years!
  6. If storing things in paper packages, why can't the contents be written on the outside? Paper envelopes are available with see-through windows - maybe the best solution. Gotta think outside the envelope!
  7. Could have been some sort of display vehicle, parade car, or other attraction in a light-hearted vein at one time. I'm surprised the hood ornament survived all those years.
  8. Should have "BUICK" chrome letters on the hood above the grille. Minor point, but noticable. Otherwise, nice car.
  9. Will they be preserved, covered over again, or the buildings destroyed?
  10. I always thought the $100k + restorer was the lunatic fringe of the hobby. "Piece them together with respect and keep them running" has always been my operating principle. While I'm out and about enjoying my cars, the nit-pickers are hovering over their 4-wheeled "investments", protecting them from the rest of the world. Where's the fun in that?
  11. The cabriolet had a '49 - '53 flathead...not stock.
  12. The cabriolet brought $26,250; the coupe, $14,250. 07/06/22
  13. Must have been the sales manager's car for a mustard company.
  14. '57 Chevys remind me of the girls I went to high school with. Some plain Jane's, some sexy, some overdone, and now, as well as back then, mostly unobtainable. I drove my shoebox Fords and, later, Galaxies and didn't look back.
  15. Headlights and front bumper are from a later A. Interior is nice but not original. Is the dash padded or just a poor photo?. Not clear to me.
  16. Just a thought, but you might want to look uplevel to Olds or the lesser Buicks. You may find something closer.
  17. Probably the "least cost to the manufacturer" rebate in history, too. How many "decades-old" tires could still be out there eligible for a refund?
  18. This story reminds me of the adventure of Alice Ramsey, June,1909, and her friend, the first women to drive across the USA.
