  1. Do you still have this car? Would love to talk to you.
  2. I have the metal band for the front seat so I can probably get that rear band fabricated, I think. I have all the cushions and springs. What I’m missing is the built-in back of the front seat. I think it’s constructed out of wood with a metal plate on the backside but I’m not sure. I wasn’t around when they took it out. If I can’t find mine or another one Im wondering if anyone does know how it was constructed. Pains me…
  3. Here’s a picture of the backseat and that metal band at the base of it that is missing.
  4. Hello Studebaker family. I’m in need of a front bench seat for a 1928 Studebaker President. I’m thinking that Commander and Dictator seats will work for this and maybe other years will work too… I think it was made of wood with a metal back, all covered in fabric but I could be wrong any information at all would be greatly appreciated. I do have all the cushions and the fabric to use as a pattern, I just don’t have the sofa frame that they go into. I’m also missing the metal piece on the bottom. Attached is a photo of a Stude seat. Does anyone have any experience in these seats, their construction, or know where I could get one? Thank you so much everyone .
  5. It’s not close but well worth the transport fee. I always recommend Tommy Meyers at Studebaker Restoration Ltd. in Long Beach, Ca. He tore down my ‘28 President and rebuilt it as brand new. It’s basically a 2022 Studebaker yet with all the original parts rebuilt and refinished. Few people know the idiosyncrasies of pre-war Studes like Tommy. Studebakerrestorationltd.com (562) 676-4460 He’s a brilliant wizard
  6. Looking for front and rear seat assembly. ic you have them, I’m I !
  7. Looking for the seats if you have any of those parts. thanks
  8. Studerex! Yes I remember. Love those books. Base coat going on the body today. (See photo) Paint work should be complete by next Saturday. Very excited. The only snack I see today is that we realized that my entire front seat system including the metal back of the front seat may have gotten lost at Bill Oliver’s shop when he shut it down. Just catching this now. I may be in some trouble with that realization…
  9. Wow!!! I can’t believe what I’m looking at. I’ve owned his car for 10 years and have been looking for anything like this and this is just absolutely incredible. I so appreciate this beyond words, I mean, let me know if you need a kidney or something. Thank you. I’m slowly going through this tonight to process it all. My car sat in the body shop for over six years and they barely touched it. I pulled it out and give it to a new shop last week that has done amazing work on classic cars and he’s ready to paint! Im super excited to move on to the next phase of putting the 4 crates of freshly chromed parts back on then off to the upholstery shop. This is a massive help. Thanks again Dale
  10. Alright my friends, I'm still a bit confused about the various names for the different sections of the car for the 1928 FB Presidents. "The Antique Studebaker Review" for May/June 2002 has a great chart for the 1928 FB colors. Here is what it states for my FB 5 pass State sedan with a 121" Wheelbase. 1.Side (Upper) - Granite Gray2.Side (Lower) - Sierra Gray3.Belt Panel (Antique) - Meadow Green4.Reveals - Sierra Grey5.Moulding - Granite Gray6.Fenders - Granite Gray7.Instrument Board - Meadow Green/Granite Gray8.Garnish Mouldings - Granite Gray9.Garnish Door Panels - Granite Gray10.Wire Wheels (Entire) Meadow Green11.Cushion Retainer - Capri Green12.Roof Color - Granite Gray **I figured out everything except I need help with 3 body panels: #3 Belt Panel (Antique) - Is that the 3' section where the door handles are? #4 Reveals ? #5 Molding ? Any help will be appreciated. Use the photo below to desribe these areas. This car gets painted this week. Thank you! Dale
  11. Don't know where to begin. However, I’m in possession of 1928 1/2 Studebaker FB President. Body tag - #FB-W-1-1096 Serial # - #7002040 Working on it tonight!
  12. Sure, I’ll join again. I was a member for a while. I was originally excited to join knowing that there were owners of antique cars such as mine that could answer the questions I had and still have while restoring it to original condition. Didn’t work out that way, just like my forum query on original fender welt for my ‘28 from last week. But I’m really getting deep into the restoration now so I’ll join again. She’s basically brand new mechanically with new correct wiring. Every single chrome or nickel piece has been re-plated. It’s been apart so long (11 years) that I gotta figure out what bolts/washers/nuts go where.
  13. If you have one or know of anyone that has one please let me know how to get in touch with that person so that can get some help with my car. much obliged. Thanks
  14. Hey Johnny. I’m doing the exact same to my 1928 Studebaker President. What are you using and where did you get your welt? Is it fabric, nylon, Naugahyde? Thank you very much
