  1. Already checked that with my mechanic, all is well. Just low on fluid
  2. Everything looks fine but I do know there is an extremely small leak from from one of my CV Shafts.
  3. So... Turns out the transmission was simply just a little low on fluid. Car shifts smooth like butter now. I am unsure if it refused to shift to preserve the life of the transmission or something (???) It's rather strange, but I am grateful. This car is my only vehicle, and I do not have much money but for once I got lucky. Thank you all.
  4. Hello, my 1989 Buick Reatta stopped shifting today. I had been out all day and it has shifted fine. I went to leave my friend's house, and noticed that the car wouldn't shift out of 1st gear. I tried turning it off, waiting some time, and turning it back on again but it still has the issue. I tried using the manual gear selector and it still wouldn't shift. Car goes into park and reverse and neutral just fine, but when in either drive mode, it just stays in 1st. The car has a vacuum leak that I am aware of, but it has driven fine before then. Please, help me out here, I'm only 17 years old with little mechanical knowledge but I will do my best to understand. Thanks all.
  5. Update- got the car back, problem was ignition control module and the coil pack. Ended up fixing another issue I chose to ignore, and has power when cold. There used to be a deadzone when pressing down the pedal all the way until it was to the floor. Runs like a charm and hasn't stalled on me yet
  6. It solved the no idle problem, but did not solve the stalling while driving and refusing to start after the stall issue
  7. I didn't ask the mechanic to test this, after all the crank position sensor was why it refused to idle and we replaced it and it works fine
  8. Padgett, mine came with a Magnavox, so maybe that is the issue haha
  9. No codes are being thrown, TPS is doing perfectly fine
  10. Update on this, apologies for my absence. Got the car back, runs and drives fine but stalls and doesn't start for hours on end. We've pinpointed it has to do something with spark, once it stalls something isn't delivering proper spark to the cylinders. Just waiting to get it back
  11. Recently it had some stalling issues, one a week it would stall and need 45 minutes before being able to start again. All symptoms led to a back crank position sensor. I got that sensor replaced and now it will only run if you hold the pedal down to 2000 rpm. Any lower and it will immediately stall out. This is my only car and I really need help as soon as possible, thank you.
