A friend of mine discovered this family photo. His grandfather is sitting in the passenger seat. He asked what kind of car this is and I have been trying to identify it. From the shape of the radiator/grill, I believe this to be a Maxwell, but I have not been able to find any exact matches of this car online. There are some unusual details on the car in this image: there is only one headlight (indicating it is probably from 1906 or before), the front fenders on this car don't even reach the 12 o'clock position over the tires (could they have been altered after purchase?), the strangest detail is the scroll work on the armrests--I have yet to find that on any of the hundreds of pictures I have looked at searching for the identity of this car.
