  1. The old timers told me to put grease in the steering box, but that seemed crazy to me. Mine just needed the linkage tightened up.update on mine…redoing top and headliner.
  2. Cool man! Great progress. I tried to rebuild mine, but it was too far gone…push rod was too pitted. Bought refrub for $80. Be careful with those, I believe if you put the push rod down too far, it will break the seal. I might’ve broke one🤔🤭
  3. Cool. I wondered since the Hydra one looked better. Fyi… French Lake Auto Salvage not far from you has two 53’s for parts. They are NOT on their inventory list and there is some decent parts to be had. They are exactly the same as your cars. The baby blue one looks like it has a very good engine if you need it. fyi…I will be putting mine in the Dozinky parade this weekend, 3 years and a lot of labor, but finally there!!
  4. Awesome, is that your parts car or do you plan to build it too? Same color combo as mind!
  5. I think I have only seen your powerglide car…send a pic of your other one if you have time!
  6. Good call. The neutral safety switch is a big deal here. If it is not aligned, it wont start plain and simple. Try hold you shift lever up tight in neutral, that works sometimes.
  7. Obvious here, but when the starter was out, did you do a quick test to see if the solenoid and starter motor work? Just hook up the neg to the starter housing and tap the pos to the terminal, starter should engage and turn. If the starter works, then did you check the ignition with your meter when you turn it over to see if the ignition switch is good?
  8. I used a local radiator shop to acid flush, pressure and flow test. They found a rag in the damn thing (like everyone does with stuffing a rag in the top inlet)!! It was worth the $100 bucks…
  9. Makes sense to solder, etc. however make sure the radiator is worth fixing before you invest too much time energy and or money!
  10. Thanks for the advice. I have no clue how to turn up the voltage. Is that adjusting the regulator? If so, I would need to bend the spring mount?
  11. If anyone cares to hear….lol too much load with the electric pump and fan, couldn’t keep up at idle….
  12. Thanks, did that too. With as much as I have that damn thing apart, I cant count the times I have polarized, thanks again!!
