  1. While Googling on 1920s Jefferson automobiles, I happened to come across your pics on aac.org. Looking closely at the second picture, I was just barely able to make out "JEFFERSON" at the bottom edge of the lens. This was very interesting to me since my grandfather, Albert Mastelli, Sr., was supposed to own an automobile company in the 1920s, based in Port Jefferson, Long Island, New York. The cars he was supposed to have made were known as "Jeffersons". Unfortunately, this was just before the great stock market crash of 1929 and according to what my father (Albert Mastelli, Jr.) told me when I was young, he was able to make only a few cars before he lost everything. Up to now I have not been able to find any information about this make on the internet (or anywhere else). It's entirely possible that he never got the chance to build even a single car before disaster struck but I would love to know a little bit about this side of my family. I asked my father (when he was alive) for more information but he didn't know much himself. I'm sending you this in an effort to give you a little info that might help you out with your identification of this part. And if you should get any leads about Jefferson automobiles, please email me back with it. Thank you. Christopher Mastelli moodiie1@gmail.com
