  1. I appreciate your responses. I will check the shift seal and use the fluid trick. Thanks a lot!
  2. I realize that this is an old topic but I cannot thank everybody enough for this thread! I found a 65 Riviera in a barn. It had been sitting for 19 years. The tires still held air! I put it in neutral pulled it on the trailer, took it home, unloaded it and placed it in park. The next day there was a pool of transmission fluid under the car. My heart sank. I thought I had a bad seal or maybe something more sinister. Varnish on the check ball makes sense. Might I ask where the oil leaks from when the converter drains? I imagine from the filler tube seal. I just want to climb under there and make sure the leak location matches this situation. By the way, I am also the proud owner of a drip pan dedicated to the Buick. Thanks again from a new owner and enthusiast!
  3. Yes Sir I have one ordered. Just trying to get jets ordered too so I can get this thing back together. Thanks for the reply!
  4. Hello All, I’m new here so this may have been covered. I have a 65 Riviera with a 401. I am currently rebuilding the original carburetor. It is a Rochester 4GC model 7025040. I recently moved to Wyoming and live at 5000’. The jet sizes are currently 52 primary and 80 secondary. I’m not sure if this is stock. The car came from the Central Valley in California. Maybe a few hundred feet above sea level. I know I need to drop jet sizes with altitude. If this is stock jetting I guess I would drop 2-3 sizes. I accidentally posted this same question in the Technical section. I think that was a mistake. I’ll try to figure out how to delete it there. Any help would be appreciated.
