  1. Depending on the brand here there is 0-5% ethanol in premium, regular and mid grade is 10-15%. I have an 70’s outboard that hates ethanol too. So I’m not sure if it matters with my 39 but I try to run as little ethanol through it as possible.
  2. I buy the higher octane because it has a lower amount of ethanol in.
  3. I saw his threads and posts, hopefully I can track someone down. I reached out to the Oldsmobile Museum in Lansing too. Hoping i can find something. I would like to preserve the car and transmission.
  4. I've got the Oldsmobile "version" of this transmission. I am trying to track down any of the special shop tools, or anyone who could make me a copy of the servo band gauge. Barring finding the tool, any advise on how to recalibrate the servo band without the tool would be very helpful.
  5. Hello, I have a 39 Olds, with the AST Transmission. The front servo on it needs to be reset, and the service manual (the one I have is for the Buick same transmission except for the drive shaft link up) it tells me to use a servo gauge, tool number j-1127. Is ther anyone out there who has one of these or has specs or diagrams o the tool? I can't find anything in the manual or online on how to ajust the servo break band without it. Considering I think the guts of the transmission are the same as a 1940 hydra-matic. Differnece being the addition of a fluid coupling? Anyway I am rambling but any help would be appreciated!
