  4. I have think about soldering a piece of rod to the back side of one of the rings I have. It has a groove in the back and plan to roll a rod to the diameter of the groove and TRY to solder that to hold the shape. Just an attempt to see if it will work. The pot metal is a pain because you don't know what is going to happen..
  5. Which book are you looking at. it has much better pictures than the master catalog that I have. I believe this is for a 9A but I am putting it into a L5 coupe express. Just me but I think the truck deserves a good wheel.
  6. I am looking for a horn ring for a Phantom wheel. part number for the wheel is 192811 . I have tried 2 from ebay and none are right. Any help would be appreciated. even the part number. this is a wheel that is divided into 3 equal sections. thanks.
  7. fh4ever thanks for the info. I have the manual and as you said it's pretty lacking in detail but I will look at it again and see what I can come up with. as for your cracked spokes I would have them tig welded. I am/was a welder for years and that is the way I would have them repaired. It is very controlled heat and should do the job. thanks mark
  8. Sorry for taking so long to reply. It is a full circle ring

  16. thanks for the input. I will contact Ted soon and see what he has to say. looking forward to getting it all back together and enjoying it. The body is just about done at the body shop and with a parts truck I have it should be back to the way it was in the day. thanks again.
  17. Good afternoon. I am in search of someone who is willing and able to rebuild my 39 226 flathead. It has original style babbitt bearings. It doesn't have to be redone that way or it can. I haven't been able to find anyone around here (Ky) that is willing to do it. I am fine with getting it to someone on this side of the country. Any help would be great. I have had it running without any strange sounds or smoking. thanks
  18. I just picked up a 39 CE and it came with an engine. the number on the machined surface at the front left side of the block is 1464658 there are no letters with the number so it has me confused. Imagine that. thanks for any info on this
  19. I have a 39 CE and needed both window deviders. I was able to score one from the PO and just checked it against the ones on my 40 ford sedan and they appear to be much the same. I believe that they would be much easier to obtain from those than studebaker. if your like me and just trying to seal the gap. Just throwing it out as an alternative.
  20. thanks for the info. They do work smoother after some cycling. still on the frame and suspension stage of the rebuild.
  21. Hi I am redoing a 39 CE and have new old stock rear shocks. the problem seems that the arms are not in the right position to attach to the linkage. the old ones I have don't want to come apart to reposition the arms. Is it just frozen on or is there a trick to getting the arms removed. thanks for any help mark
  22. I have put LED bulbs in my 31 ford truck with bulbs not sealed beams and they really improved the light output. Also not expensive. I don't know if they have the same connection/base but maybe an option.
  23. I am missing everything for the one headlight. Any parts out there would be a great help.
