  1. I would like to see a side shot that shows the manifold better. 1909 manifold might be different than what is on my 1911 Model 20. It has a J shaped bottom and the bottom hole of the carburetor sits in the hole in the J section. Air is pulled through a passage in the exhaust manifold and preheats the air intake to the carb.
  2. I just ran across this thread. Yes, that is a photo that I posted of one of the floorboard sections in my 1911 Hupp. It is a cutout for the exhaust to bypass the muffler as was suggested earlier. I haven't driven the car enough to know if it makes a difference or not.
  3. Check with Tom Vanmeetern. He deals in all of the old electrical stuff for our old cars. Phone: 402-359-5762 E-mail: tsvanmeet@gmail.com
  4. Just emailed the file. It is about 1.9 MB so I hope it goes through OK. Let me know if you get it or not. Do you have the Owners manual? I also have that file that I could email if you want.
  5. Yes there is detailed information in the book. Have you requested a copy from Peter? If that doesn't work message me with your email address and I will send you a copy.
  6. I am still interested in a set of the brackets. DM me with the info on payment and whatever you need from me. I am sure I will be interested in the trunk rack castings as well when they are available. Thanks for your work on these projects. Steve
  7. Hi Jeff. i would be interested in getting one of the crankshafts.
  8. Very impressive. I am enjoying seeing your progress.
  9. Peter: Looks like interesting options. Never knew about these being available. I am interested in a set of each. Let me know when you find out what the cost will be. Thanks Steve Hughes
  10. Adding my two cents to this conversation. If you use a T rear end, or use T innards in your housing, you have some options as to gear ratio. The 3.63 ration was standard, but some other ratios were available. A 4 to 1 ratio is available by just changing the 11 tooth pinion to a 10 tooth. A Ruxtel would be an interesting feature to add to the Hupp. It is just underdrive and direct. There is no overdrive. Not sure the Hupp could handle an overdrive anyway. There were a number of transmissions that were used to add behind the Ford planetary transmission to give extra gearing. Warford was one of the most popular. There is even a new Warford available with improved gearing. It does have an overdrive as well as under and direct. It does require shortening the drive shaft and torque tube and radius rods by 12". I am quite familiar with the Model T mechanics. I am working on three Model T rear axles currently. One of them is a Ruxtel. I have never been into my Model 20 rear end however.
  11. A little hard to see detail, but from what I can see it looks great. Looking forward to seeing the end result and what the cost per unit would turn out to be. Thanks for doing this.
  12. Thanks, Peter. That worked. I was able to get it downloaded.
  13. Still don't have access to the file on Google Drive.
  14. The splash aprons on my 1911 are over the brackets, hiding them. But this is on a touring so might not be the same. Steve
  15. Thank you for the information, David. I am in no hurry to get the dust cover as I have not started a restoration yet.
