  1. I have a 1937 Coupe sitting in the garage awaiting restoration. Three of the tires have went flat and only hold air for a day or so. I have two other wheels and tires that are holding air sitting next to the Coupe so I thought I would changed out the rear wheels and fix the flat on the front later. I got my jack, jack stand and tools and went to the drivers rear to break the lug nuts free. It was then that I noticed that there were only three lug nuts. The other two had been broken off. I guess someone in the car's history did not know that the left side has left handed threads and twisted off the lugs. After loosening the first two nuts I started on the last one and it turned easily. And it turned and turned and did not loosen. I then realized that whoever had broken the two lugs off had failed to break this one, but did strip the splines that hold the lug to the hub. So now I have a wheel that is held on by one lug nut that can't be unscrewed. My choices are either to cut the nut off somehow, or cut a hole in the backing plate and try to Mig weld the lug to the hub. The second choice may be the best in that I need 3 lugs in order to use my great Blue Point hub puller. I do have another rear end and it will be quicker to just replace the entire unit if I can get the bolts out of the rear of each spring. But I do want to fix the rear end currently under the car. Old cars are fun and teach us patience!
  2. Yes, just waiting for the check and parts to get to their destinations.
  3. I have a 1931 Commander Model 70 and the levers on the steering column are broken. I saw on several older posts that someone reproduces them in brass, but there was no contact information. Anyone have any leads on where to get these parts? Thanks!
  4. The admins asked us to change our screen names many years ago and I did. I was 37Dictator and after the change I am GeorgeCagle. Another user took the 37Dictator name so I can no longer use it. My login information has not changed and still works. The only problem is that someone changed my "join" date to Jan 4, 2022. I have lost access to all my old posts.
  5. JFranklin, my old login is my only login. I still have the same email address and password. All that changed was my screen name and that was many years ago. Eds post above was to a guy that was hijacking my thread about his problem with PMs. Evidently a moderator moved the hijack post to its own thread. I did a search for some of my old posts and found this one from 2015. I was using the same user name then as I do now. I just want to know why my account was reset.
  6. I just noticed today that my join date is listed as Jan 4, 2022 and I have 4 posts. I joined back in 1999 when I bought my '37 Studebaker. My user name back then was 37Dictator. When you all asked that we all switch to our real names I changed to GeorgeCagle. All the posts that I had connected to my account are gone. What happened? Thanks George
  7. Thanks Tom, that is the part I was looking for. I will be happy to pay postage and for your time and trouble. I would send you a PM but I noticed that for some reason this site has me joining at the beginning of 2022 and I only have 3 posts. I joined back in 1999 and my username then was 37Dictator. They send a message out several years ago wanting us to change to our names so I did that. I live in Maryville, TN and my email is 37dictator@REMOVEgmail.com (remove the REMOVE) and you can also call or text me at 256.898.5691. I have an Alabama number since I lived and worked there for 30 years before retiring back to Tennessee. Thanks George Cagle
  8. I am in East Tennessee, so we are quite a ways apart. I have the grill, surround and headlight buckets. I will need a radiator eventually but I want to get the body right first. The part I need is amazing. Everything bolts to it, and it is held to the frame by one bolt. The picture above if of my 4-door when I was first putting it toether.
  9. I have a 1937 Dictator 4-door that is a nice driver. I recently picked up a Dictator Coupe project and it is missing lots of parts. The part I am currently looking for is the bracket that the radiator sits in and the front fenders bolt onto. My 4-door has this part and I could use it as a pattern to make one for the coupe, but I really don't want to take my good running car apart! If anyone has one for sale please email me at 37dictator@REMOVEgmail.com. Thanks, George
  10. I worked at that same company for 28 years and always wondered what happened to that display. I am interested, depending on price. Even though I have been on this site for years, it would not let me sign in nor reset my password, so I had to enter again as a new user. So I can't access the PM system. You can email me at 37dictator@gmailDOTcom, change DOT to . Thanks, George
