Hello, newbie here seeking direction from anyone who knows anything at all about these motors as there is little to no information available online. This is a 32 Plymouth PB that a friend purchased and brought over to me on a trailer for repairs. Mostly small issues which I have corrected but the major problem is it idles very rough and seems hesitant to accept throttle unless opened VERY slowly and then still sounds like it wants to bog down and die, although it doesn't die, only returns to a very rough idle. I've cleaned and rebuilt the carb, filed, cleaned and adjusted the point gap, set the timing so that the points are just opening at the 10 degree mark, replaced plugs and wires. Last night I ran a compression test and got from 40-45 PSI on all cylinders. Way lower than anything I've ever worked on before but I believe that these motors only had 5:1 compression ratio so perhaps this is normal. Any thoughts or ideas are welcomed and appreciated.
