  2. I would disagree. Take the time and look through their recent pre-war listings. Lots of unique cars in all price ranges and i think the Marmon would fit in good. they have anything from Packard to Model T to Hispano-Suiza and many more unique vehicles. this page has come a long way.

  4. Up for your consideration one of two remaining 1929 Marmon Roosevelt 3-Window Rumble Seat Landau Coupe. In 1929 Marmon introduced the Roosevelt Serie as a lower priced Entry-level luxury Automobile and advertised it as the first Straight 8 Cylinder car below $1000.- Out of the roughly 28000 Roosevelt manufactured during 1929 and 1930, only about 3000 were the higher priced coupes. The rest were delivered as 4-door Sedans. The coupes consisted of 5-window versions, Victoria and Collapsible coupe. There are no records available of how many 3-window coupes were produced and the consensus is they were only available as special order. The offered Marmon was registered with the international Marmon registry, and it was known the car had a paint, top and chrome restoration in the 70’s. At some point in the late 70’s the car was sold, and the Marmon registry lost its track. The location was unknown and over the years it was assumed the car was lost. Many years later, Klairmont Kollection in Chicago displayed a 3-window coupe, which was believed to be the last one. My Granddaughter and I found the car at a local collector in a non-drivable condition. The interior was taken apart and the engine had not run for many years. After re-assembly and hours of polishing on her part, the Marmon was back in the condition it is now. The interior was re-assembled, mechanical was gone through with new plugs, points and of course new fluids. All 4 breaks are serviced, water pump was rebuilt with new bushings and packing. The steering Box was serviced, and the front brake levers received new bushings. Most of the required work was performed by my granddaughter with my Help. It has been a pleasure to teach her on this car. The car has been taking by us to several local shows as well as participated in the Concourse d’Elegance at the Chattanooga Motor Car festival in 2022. The car is also featured in the Crankshaft Magazine, issue #6, May 2023. Overall the Marmon is in a good condition, the paint shows its age with some minor dents and wear, but shows good. Interior is in very good shape and the drivetrain is in original condition. The Inline 8 Engine runs good and does not smoke. The Transmission is a 3-speed. The Reason for the sale is to financially support the restoration of my granddaughters Truck. She has the goal to complete her vintage truck in time for the start of her Career in Automotive Restoration and Preservation in 2024. She is performing all work herself. As for a value, the following info can be provided: The Car at Klairmont is valued at $45.000.-, but overall condition is not as good. The only Coupe currently for sale was a 5-window coupe, in a non-running condition and parts missing for $32.000.- . The classic car value guide has the value for a 5-window coupe at $39.000.- in a mid to high condition. please consider the rarity of the vehicle and its condition being better than the one in the museum to make your own judgement . The Vehicle is Located between Knoxville and Chattanooga in East Tennessee. The car will be end of june on Being-A-Trailer and i will post the link.   5. Thank you Jon, i just checked my pictures and i do not have a picture, showing the tag . i have to look at the car . The carburetor is indeed mounted with a cross flange. I took the carp completely apart, cleaned everything out thoroughly and re-assembled it. i will see how it runs,

  7. Can anybody tell me what the correct carburetor model would be for a 1929 Marmon Roosevelt and who might have one they no longer need ? My car came with a cast iron Bendix carburator, which is mounted with an adapter plate. It is an old one, but im sure not correct. thank you

  9. from what i found online it said there were about 20.000 roosevelt built, about 2000 of them as coupe.. but to me this seemed high for 1929. Also the last info i heard from another gentleman, he said of the rumble seat coupe, there are only 5 registered and mine is according to the sreial number one they lost track off in the 70's. the book sure would be nice, but its pricey in a decent condition. . I will check into the Marmon club. Do you have any idea as to how to put a value on my car ? considering in a running and driving condition ?
  10. one of the prior owners started to do the electric fuel pump modification. i already removed it , cleaned the vacuum pump/ reservoir and started working on the vacuum lines . it will be back to original for sure . just hope it all works once im done .
  11. sorry, should have been more specific, I was talking about the freeplay i have . about 1/4 turn side to side. while turning 1/4 side to side the shaft moves up and down.
  12. does anybody have a steering box diagram for a 1929 Marmon Roosevelt or does anybody know , if there is any adjustments for play? i have almost 1/4 steering wheel free play. I noticed that while turning left and right while the vehicle is sitting, the steering shaft moves up and down. this would normally tell me, there is some end stop not correct. I have not taking it apart and wonder if anybody has a simple advice. thank you
  13. thats what i thought. didnt there used to be a handpump on some vehicles to prime it ? im considering to actually add a shut-off valve below the vacuum pump , so nothing can drain down in case the float is not sealing correctly (whenever I store the car )
