  1. I have been trying to reach Stooge multiple times this year ( Dan Maas) by email but to no avail. I was working with him on some Buick parts fab he was doing for me, Dan seemed like a really great guy and I thought very trustworthy. He disappeared from contact last spring and I did not have a phone number for him. Sure would like to reach him, Im worried that he became ill to dissapear off the grid so suddenly. Any contact information would be appreciated if anyone knows him out there or to ask him to contact me pls - Thanks - Dan B
  2. Thanks folks - I sure take full personal responsibility for getting scammed, the man was very good at sounding convincing and truthful, and I suckered for it. I just want to point out though, the forum instructions for Buy/Sell do include adding one's phone number to the posting, as well as email, etc, and even further says if the instructions and formats are not followed that the posting can be deleted without warning. I would never blame anyone else but myself, but maybe those instructions should be revised going forward, to suggest that members not include phone numbers in the ad In the end I agree, it is certainly Buyer Beware tho..
  3. I thought I was smart enough by now to recognize and avoid a scam, but evidently not - I got taken for $200 today by "Domongoe Scott", of Hayward CA, or San Leandro CA, who contacted me relative to some parts I was looking for from this site. Once he had the money in hand, no parts sent and no more contact. I have not been able to find him here on the AACA site under that name, but it is likely he is here under another name or picking up phone numbers from WTB posts. Watch out for this guy... His telephone number is currently 510 331 2130
  4. Hello - I am still seeking a pair of good useable or restorable support peg assemblies for the two small rear fold down opera seats in a 1939 Buick sport coupe. The supports are mounted to the underside of the small rear fold down seats, and the hinged and ratcheted fold-down pegs fit into corresponding small chrome cups on the back floor. Below is what a very nice assembly looks like. Thanks in advance for any information. I have searched much but they are difficult to find Dan Buchacher, Kirkland WA
  5. Thanks so much for your detailed photos - The secret spring bullet mechanism is finally revealed!. I received similar photos from another kind member, attached. Case Solved! Best Regards, Dan
  6. Thanks - Between the most helpful Dave and Jolly_John, I have now been able to assemble a right and left hand set of the light assemblies - looking forward to restoring them and installing - thanks guys!
  7. Thanks much Dave, appreciate the pictures - The puzzle becomes clearer and clear!
  8. Thanks Leif, really appreciate the information - This aligns with finding a small hole in the seat bottom plywood where the center of the bracket would locate - I suspect that that is where the small bullet piece was lodged. This photo attached also implies a thin sheet metal "gasket" of sorts under the bracket, that may have been there to retain the bullet piece, my guess. Thanks!
  9. Hello, I am looking for a right and left hand pair of 1939 front fender light assys, complete and correct with the chrome seam on the top, NOS or restorable. Thanks in advance - Dan Buchacher, Seattle, maximumsun@gmail.com, 4258902856
  10. Started a separate thread for this quick question please - for any 1939 Sport Coupe owners that have these opera seats and the peg leg supports - Not having been able to see and operate one of these in real life yet, Stooge (Dan Maas) and I are wondering if the bracket support assembly has any kind of ratcheting or locking mechanism within the bracketry to lock the peg into place either extended or folded up - or is it just a simple bracket and clevis and hinge pin - it is hard to tell from any of the photos I have seen. The 38s that have the opera seats that fold up in into the back rest apparently do have a retention ratchet feature, hence the question on the 39s, and Dan is looking at making a set of 39 assemblies, also hence the question. Thanks in advance!
  11. A followup question please for any 1939 Sport Coupe owners that have these opera seats and the peg leg supports - Not having been able to see and operate one of these in real life yet, Stooge (Dan Maas) and I are wondering if the bracket support assembly has any kind of ratchet mechanism in the bracketry to lock the peg into place either extended or folded up - or is it just a simple bracket and clevis and hinge pin - it is hard to tell from the photos. Thanks in advance! Dan
  12. Wow Dan, Thanks, that is an amazing offer - Your skills and quality are really good and I would be definitely interested in that - Why don't you email me at celestialmaples@gmail.com at your convenience, no urgency, and we can work out a plan and appropriate compensation to you for the parts too. Maybe you can become a source for these parts out there for other owners too! Now we just have to figure out how to do the dimple piece for the floor! Thanks again - Dan B
  13. Wow, thanks so much for all the photos, really appreciate it! Confirms the floor dimple piece also to receive the leg tip. Thanks!
  14. Thanks so much for the information and links, really appreciate it! Best Regards - Dan
