  1. Mr. Hunter: I am the one who has the 40 Phaeton. I read your postings on the web site for the AACA forum. Did you ever find the radio bezel? Bob Petters (856-524-4282) (c) & txt
  2. Body work done. Couple coats of high filler primer and get the body ready for green paint. Bob
  3. Floor is done and ready for the body parts to get sand blasted and fit and then paint. Motor is done and running with the hydro trans.
  4. Looking for the interior light lens for the 2 lamps to go on the back of the front seat of the 1940 Super 4 door convertible. 41 is probably the same and is the same for Olds, Buick, Caddy? Any help out there? A source for these 2 lens? Bob
  5. Here is the 40 Buick, Super, same body as my 40 Olds 90 series. Bob
  6. Do not have any insight into what GM did with the mixing of the body panels. Buick & Olds shared the same rear fender in 1940 on the 90 series and the super as well as the trunk lid and rear body panel and rocker panels. I am using the 1940 Buick super as my guide in putting my Olds back together. It has been a real Humpty-Dumpty thing for the past year. Here is a picture of the 1940 that Mike Fusick had for 25 years and now is in the Oldsmobile museum in Lansing.
  7. Looking for a 3:08 rear for my 1953 Oldsmobile. Any help out there? Bob Petters
  8. I have that 40 4 door convertible in my garage. It is undergoing a complete restoration and it has been a difficult one. The body has so must rust I have been almost building a new body. It was hit hard in the rear many years ago and someone put a complete rear body clip on it up to the rear doors. Probably from that 4 door the previous owner mentioned. A few things were not lined up properly when it was done, and I am having to redo a lot of it. It is very challenging for me as an untrained back yard kind of guy. Progress is being made slowly. 9. I see that my name was mentioned regarding the 41 Olds Phaeton. I have a 1940, not 41 and Al Sandy never owned a 41 Phaeton. Restoration is going slowly as I am by myself and the rust out in thisbcar is overwhelming. Have to practically make a new body but I keep plugging away. Bob Petters
  10. I have to replace the outer rocker panels on my Oldsmobile L40 4 door convt and the replacement ones are straight. I have already replaced the inners and they are OK. How do I put the necessary bend in them so they fit properly. I am scratching my head. I have contacted the maker of the replacement panels and they don't have a clue. They just sell straight ones. Any NOS ones out there? Same piece for Buick super and probably LaSalle & Pontiac. Any suggestions? Bob Petters in NJ
  11. Do not have a 60 series but just acquired a L40 Phaeton. Work in progress for a couple of years. I am the advisor on the 40 Olds for both Oldsmobile clubs so if you have any questions I am here. Bob
  12. I only have 2. This Phaeton and my L40 coupe that I have had for 50 years. Also a 53 S88 convt, but that is it. Planning to bring my 40 coupe to Lansing in August for the NAOC meet.
  13. Progress being made on my 40 phaeton. Long process. Lots & lots of rust in the entire body. Have to practically make a new body. Bob Petters
