  1. We got a nice 1999 grand marquis with 155k miles for $1400 back in 2009 for the wife’s daily driver/work commuter. She hated it at first! Wasn’t as cushy as the 1990 Lincoln TC… After a year she loved it… Fast forward 14 years and 256k miles, now my two oldest kids share it as their daily and joke it will be there sisters first car! Tires, brakes, ball joints, fuel pump and the intake manifold is all it’s wanted. And a p71 sway bar… We moved to the PNW and the rwd sucks in the ice and snow, but otherwise a great platform. I’ll be on the hunt for another CV or GM when the time comes! TP
  2. Hi guys! This box was stashed with a bunch of antique 6V battery chargers, but when I opened it up it was obviously an early automobile tube radio part - AM tuner or receiver? Couldn’t find any markings or labels. The outside has a really cool art deco paint scheme. The inside uses an Eveready Raytheon er237 tube and others. I’ve got a slew of the dial/cable dash pieces stashed somewhere I’ll dig up soon, but none were obviously paired up with this unit. Anyone have an idea what maker and year? Thanks in advance!!
  3. Hi, No unfortunately he was a little out of sorts with dementia… they did have it running in the coupe years ago, and he decided to put a v8 in it and keep the straight 8 for the convertible. TP
  4. Hi, up for consideration is a 248 Buick engine and 5-bolt transmission. dual intake with 2 stromberg aerotype carburetors and air cleaner. starter, distributor and flywheel. no clutch or pressure plate. this was from the PO’s running coupe and it was destined for the convertible. It turns over smoothly but hasn’t ran with me. It was stored in a garage. $2000 for what you see in the pics. im in Portland Oregon.
  5. Not sure if it’s a super or special or ? if anyone can clarify that would be great. tp
  6. hi, here’s a 3-speed setup for a 322 nailhead. comes with most everything needed. flywheel, transmission, bellhousing, column shifter, pressure plate, pedals… lots to see in the pictures… transmission is very clean inside. hoping for $700 located in Portland OR.
  7. Any idea what this did? Figuring it’s a tester, remagnetizer or a charger for the old wood model t coils. the one I didn’t get had an ammeter gauge. Thanks for any input! TP
  8. The primer has the knack of showing the blemishes but also how rust free the sheetmetal is. Typically I go cheap and am stuck with hours of rust repair. This one is minimal. Even the bottom is unbelievably solid. Ray did an awesome job cleaning and paint up the frame while the body was away for dipping. Now I need to figure out the plan, and list missing parts. There is a ton of parts still to go through.
  9. Hey Jim! I'm not sure! The dipping process was amazingly thorough, and the ID tag is in a box somewhere!! The humidity was slowly attacking the bare metal. Over the weeks I’d been sanding and coating the sheetmetal with some rattlecan primer. Just thick enough to keep the flash rust but light enough to sand off before serious paint, which won’t be any time soon! The third load filled in a couple big gaps - front/ rear fender and the grille. A dry sunny day was set aside for a real mock up. TP
  10. The shed filled up way to quickly!! Since the car was in the garage, I threw stuff on to mock up the missing pieces while also making space and separating all the 1st/2nd and 3rd parts. TP
  11. A month or so later, the next load was scheduled at the same time my parents were up visiting for thanksgiving. My dad was almost as excited as I was when the deal went through, so it was a fun day hauling it home. It barely fit into the garage compared to the 40 Ford that was kicked out! TP
  12. The hardest part, still is, figuring out where to store everything. I’d cleaned out the garage, but a shed was relegated to Buick parts… TP
