  1. Thanks again. I reached out to John - hopefully he has it.
  2. Thanks everyone. I'll definitely check out the Buick Farm. The vinyl insert is completely disintegrated so we'd have to try and reproduce. Maybe we could wrap a thin slice of foam in vinyl and glue back in.
  3. Does anyone know where I can find the side trim for the 1973 Riviera? It's the chrome piece with some inlay that goes the length of the car. We have the original but it's not in very good shape and customer asked if we can find a new one. I've searched all over (the internet) but no luck finding a reproduction. Our last resort will be to try and salvage the original but I'm not sure we can get it to its original state.
  4. Thanks for the responses. Yeah, we're having a hard time, especially since we only have pictures to go by - nothing we can scan. The only paint we don't have available here is the Sherwin Williams. PPG has all the 1972 and 73 colors but not the 73 Burnt Coral for some reason. I'm learning that it was exclusive to the 73 Riviera. Now I'm kicking myself because I'm the one who convinced the customer to go with that color.
  5. Hello, We have a 73 Riviera and want to paint it Burnt Coral but having a hard time finding it in any databases. We've tried PPG, Spies Hecker, Duxone, and a couple others but can't find it. I know it's a very specific color. Does anyone have the "recipe" for this paint color with brand used? Just to clarify, we have all the codes, it's just that none of the brands have it in their system here (we're in Bahrain). Thanks
  6. Welp, we finished and we'll pull from the chassis now to fine tune it. I think it came out pretty good. The first quarter of the video is before I placed the camera inside.
  7. Yes, good advice. We did decide to leave it on the chassis for the reason you mentioned. We still want to remove it off the chassis later but plan to add a temporary support rail of some sort along with the new pans.
  8. We finally got started on this project and thought I'd post some pics. We're having to fabricate quite a bit since the shipping is too costly but it's coming along pretty good. I'm making a time lapse video of the entire process so will post a link to that later if anyone interested.
  9. Thanks a lot for all the suggestions. Sorry, it took me awhile to get back to this. It is currently Burgundy with white vinyl top and interior but the previous owner must have done a quick job to put it on market, a tape and spray job. Sound advice on the pearl addition. I sometimes get a little carried away
  10. My customer wants to go with a new color but I suggested he stick with one of the original colors from 1973. Now, we're trying to figure out which would be best. Looking at pictures, it seems the Burnt Coral really shows the lines of the car the best. I know color is subjective but any thoughts on which color really makes the contours pop? We might add a little pearl just to make it show even more.
  11. Thanks everyone. We've now had a chance to get everything out of the way and it does look pretty straightforward. We're taking it a quarter at a time as we don't have any donors over here. The customer got it from the northern US so I had attributed all the rust to road salt? However, the way the seat bolts were rusted, it almost looks like it might have sat in some water for a while. Other than that it's in pretty good shape. Thanks again.
  12. Thanks. I've got to give him a quote today so just wanted to see if there is anything I might have missed. It does look pretty standard so hopefully we'll get it right.
  13. Hello, I just received a 1973 Riviera in my shop that requires just about all of the flooring to be replaced/repaired. It's required to pass inspection here in Bahrain as the customer bought it and imported it here (they wanted to cancel the car but the customer promised we could fix it). I was told the inspectors don't even want any paint on it because they want to see exactly what we've done. I notice I can find most of the floor pans online so that's good news. However, has anyone replaced all of these before and is there anything we should look out for? I have a rotisserie, lifts, etc. in my shop so we should be in good shape but this is our first Riviera. Appreciate any tips/tricks if available. Thanks.
