I'm helping my 89 year old neighbor Curly to find parts to fix his '39 Buick. He's looking for the valve train, or a used head with all of the valves attached. He heard a noise in the engine that sounds like a broken rocker. He hasn't been able to get under the hood to inspect it yet and see which one is making the noise, but his ears are still good though he cannot get around that well now. He hasn't been able to get into the garage but he's wanting to get parts and get it fixed with the help of other younger friends.
It was driven regularly but has sat for the past few years. It got hot on him and he thinks the valve swelled and may have broken the rocker. Likely rusty from sitting. He was trying to get it hot then shut it off and work it out but couldn't. That was 2 years ago and since Covid, his physical condition has gotten worse.
Any help is appreciated. I'm searching as many forums as I can. He'd be interested in talking to anyone about the engine if that helps.
Thank you
Mike & Curly
