  1. I believe it to be a HAYNES. No idea of year. Last year for the Haynes was 1924.
  2. Hi Wayne, thank you for your comments. I think I can relate to your story with remembering some of my own experiences. I am now in contact with another gentleman who has also been down this road. The information I am getting here has really been helpful. Thanks again. Roy
  3. Hey Fred, Talked it over with my son and we are thinking we should look further into the repair of the Blind Jug/Head if the repair is possible. If the repair is not possible we are thinking the Continental 7N is a better match, If one can be found. If you don’t mind maybe we can keep you in mind if at some point we are unable to accomplish anything. Thanks Roy
  4. I think you are right. The blind jug/head shows many freeze cracks and severe deterioration of wide open holes of more than three inches diameter at some of the crack spots. We really haven’t looked into repair thinking about cost verses replacement of entire engine/trans. We probably should actually check the repair route.
  5. Fred, all sounds pretty good, though still mighty unsure of the idea of how to replace and what to replace the ruined engine with. I am in this venture with my son who I will share this info and get back with you. Thanks Roy
  6. Hello. Thank you. I am not real sure of what I think i’m even asking for. I found the 26 28 REO engine on the internet looking to be somewhat similar to my Haynes engine. I guess my first questions might be, can you provide some pictures. is your engine able to run. ( Not knowing if it will match up to my transmission) Is there a trans on or available for it. Is shipping available to Iowa. And then how much you are asking for it.
  7. Continental engine or Liberty Automobile engine is similar to the engine in my Haynes car. Each of these appear to have a blind jug removable head. I am thinking I may be able to use one of these in my car.
  8. Don, just a follow up to let you know I am still interested. Thanks Roy
  9. Hey Don. I am interested, just need to know is the price you are asking. Also would like to know if it is turns free or is it seized. My son an I have a Haynes car showing the engine looking to be very similar. Thanks Roy

  12. Hi Jim. Good luck to your friend, My son and I are also looking for Haynes parts for our 1924 model 60 touring. While we are looking, we will let you know if we are able to find anything not useable on our car.
  13. Great car. Great find. My son and I were able to find a 1924 touring model sixty. Hoping to find a motor or even a car needing work. Thank you for posting. It gives hope there may be more out there just waiting to be found.

  15. Hey, thank you for the heads-up on the blue 1922 Haynes. It appears to be a really nice car. Hopefully at some point my son and I will make ours look this good. Yes the price does seem to be out there aways. Thanks again Roy
  16. Want to buy any 1920s Haynes Automobile needing work with a 6 cylinder engine.
  17. 3makes, The wooden bows have a fabric wrapping appearing to be the same fabric as the top material. The width across the bows at the bottom edge of the top fabric is 61 inches. An additional inside measurement across main installation point is 58 inches.
  18. Hey Mike. not sure of any wood condition as the canvas completely covers the top of the bows. Visual tacks seem to be tight. I think they are in really good shape. They unfolded and folded very easy. They are located in Council Bluffs Ia. As far as price, I really don’t know but willing to talk. They were in my old Haynes automobile when I bought it, but are not for or fit it. Roy
  19. Looking to identify this top bows apparatus. Don’t know if it is for a horse buggy or a car. Also interested in selling for a reasonable price.
  20. I am in need of a Haynes Automobile six cylinder engine. I am thinking any year will work. Doesn’t even need to be complete. interested in any part you may have.
  21. Hi John. Thank you for your comments and your support. In my mind even if you don’t find one, I think you are welcome to join in the quest. Roy
  22. Hi Bob. Really glad to hear from you. You are right the group is small. I have found a few parts, only very lucky so far with really no contact with actual owners. I did call the Haynes museum only to talk with a secretary. my son and I found our car in South Dakota from a gentleman who just bought the car back from a museum in Murdo S Dakota. He had sold it to them in 1961. I first saw the car in 1990 in the museum. While on a trip to Mount Rushmore in 2021 with a stop over in murdo the car was gone. Long story short, I found the owner and got the car bought. Thanks Roy.
  23. Still in search of Haynes Automobile parts. Interested in any and all parts that may be available.
