  1. Thanks Barney for the input.
  2. I just replaced my compressor on my 90. I used a Murray. MRY 58967
  3. That car has literally zero rust. My guess is it spent too much time outside in colorado. The uv rays are a bit stronger there because of the elevation. It’s a good price other than that wheel bearing issue.
  4. Lol you hate the Reatta but you want to restore this one? Lol that doesn’t really make sense! Reattas are addicting because they are quirky and unique. I love them.
  5. The Lesbare T Type had the same rims. You might be able to find some and then have to get the caps separately. It will probably be a lot easier to buy a set of used rims and have them doctored a little bit. The man at the BCA meet in Lisle with the one refinished rim for sale told me he was unhappy with the refinishing because once they finished the process, the cap did not sit flush on the rim any more as too much material had been ground down from the rim. There is a really nice set of chrome ones somebody had done up that you'll see around from time to time in photos. I have a parts car I'd be willing to sell some original rims from or maybe trade.
  6. I was looking at power steering pumps and it looks like the Allante used the same pump set up as the Reatta. In addition to the struts people talk about on here.
  7. Dave, are you coming to Dave McIntosh's presentation next weekend? I'll be there. I'm debating whether or not to drive a Reatta or my Accord.
  8. I want to get everything fixed on this car and keep it as my fun weekend car. AC, power steering and one of the brackets on the headlights is broken, freeze plugs leaking coolant. I could kick myself pretty dang hard for selling my silver 88 last year as it ran perfectly and had no mechanical issues.
  9. I'm not convinced that is a Select 60. But I do think that there is something odd about our knowledge of the serial numbers and x22 code which doesn't make sense. It makes no logical sense to produce cars asynchronously in a run like this if the sixty cars between 901060 and 901120 are sixty, non sixty. How would that add up to sixty cars that are select sixties? It absolutely cannot. It is mathematically impossible. Plus, there were actually sixty five cars in the 1990 Select Sixty program. The majority of the coupes I have seen that have survived do NOT have the sixteen way seats. Most are the standard seats.
  10. Lol, I'm just prejudiced against old sunroofs Padgett. You're a brave man putting your Reatta thru an auto car wash. I have never done it.
  11. check this out. This is from the database. It says 901060 was the first Select Sixty. Jake, would it make any sense to not make the select 60s in a continuous run? That doesn't really make sense to me. The missing X22 code is troubling but I don't see any logic behind them not making the S60's in a continuous/synchronous run.
  12. No sunroof on the car. I probably wouldn’t buy a sunroof car unless it was pristine.
  13. It has 16 way seats but no suede. I don’t think the seats have the original upholstery although. The color of the leather is a bit too light although whoever did the recovering did a fine job. These are much lighter than my 90 convertible which has its original saddle 16 way seats. The car has been repainted and doesn’t have any rust except in the trunk spare tire well and of course the battery terminal. It fits perfectly in the vin number range and it makes me wonder that maybe our knowledge of the serial numbers is either incorrect or the X22 code might not have been as accurate as people think. If the serial numbers started at 901060, that would make my car the sixth car in the select 60 production. I lean toward thinking the serial number range might be incorrect or they botched up x22 code and it didn’t really make it on all the select 60 cars. this car has been repainted and doesn’t have a hood badge. It was originally black however. I found a dealer card from when the vehicle was originally sold in the owners folio.
  14. There is no X22 on the sticker.
  15. So you guys, according to the vin number I have a Select Sixty. I didn’t find the X22 sticker. Would it be behind the carpeting in the trunk?
  16. From the ROJ website info page, "It would have been built with a VIN number between 901060 and 901120." Not sure about the sunroof deal. Sunroofs were available late into the 88 model year production from my understanding.
  17. So I was wrong about the Select Sixty. Well funny enough, I just bought a black 1988 with tan interior and 16 way seats on Friday! I'll have to check the VIN to see if it is a Select Sixty.
  18. That is registered. Same here. I have three Reattas. Two are titled and one is registered. I haven’t titled/registered my newest to me car yet until I fix a few things. The one that is titled but not registered is a parts car to me. I would love to actually see some photos of the black select sixties. It’s my understanding they were painted black with red interiors?
  19. Somebody on one of the forums or Facebook groups asked the question and somebody else pulled up a list of the cars registered in the 50 states. There were 6,556 registered as of 2018. I have a screenshot of this information.
  20. You sold a select 60 for $800? What was wrong with it? There is no way there are still 21,000 cars. Probably 10,000 or less that haven't been crushed. The best way to track them is to see how many are registered thru the state licenses. Plus there are some that have made their way to Europe.
  21. I'm going to have to replace one of these soon. I hope I can do it without removing the engine.
  22. Some people have put an accumulator on from an S10.
