  1. I was a mechanic at a Lincoln dealership in the 1980's I'm pretty sure air suspension was standard on these. Back then struts were $500 each and the compressor would burn out from running all the time with leaking struts, another $500. So $2,500 for parts then add labor. These were such money pits.
  2. That is a beautiful car but not the same color. Mine is antique rose. Hope you get this starting issue figured out.
  3. While the starter is out, you need to turn the motor over by hand and check the teeth on the flywheel. May have a spot where the teeth are worn and if it happens to stop there it won't start, just spin. After trying it a few times it may catch. The volt readings on the battery are good. My 63 Starfire is my favorite car. The color is not that common and I love it. Would like to see some pics of your friends car if possible.
  4. ohm meter. I think 1976 would have electronic ignition, but not sure. In that case you would not need dwell meter.
  5. I have owned this Jaguar since 1999. Drove it very little. Has less than 35,000 original miles. One professional repaint about 10 years ago. Has been sitting in my garage for last 5 years. Need to make room in garage. Very clean car. $13,000. Located western PA 16113
  6. Yes, go to the RM Auction. Preview is free. You will see some amazing cars there. Cost $200 for a bidder pass to go inside, but all the fun is outside under the tents which is free. I think it runs Wed and Thursday. Maybe Tuesday also.
  7. I always take a wagon with me to Hershey. Seems like I always find big stuff I can't live without. Gas pumps, lubesters, big signs, bumpers etc. A couple years ago I bought a 6 foot round sign, very heavy. The vendor said to drive in. It was the last day, after 4 pm and I was polite. The Derry Township police would not let me in. He was very rude. I had my wagon so I just loaded it up on that. A little bit of a job, but probally better than trying to navigate the traffic and people in the flea market. It would be nice if someone in charge (Steve or whoever) would reply so that we know what the rules are regarding this. I think we all want to abide by the rules, but we need to know what they are.
  8. What Matt said. Also there is the museum up the road and several antique shops nearby. Three days and you still won't have enough time. Make the trip, you will glad you did.
  9. You're welcome John. I enjoyed seeing the cars and talking to the widow. Hope it all works out for you.

Also they have a store next to the museum and have a good selection of tools and equipment and restoration supplies. Their products are of great quality, love going there.
