  1. Since not much interest as a complete car I hate too but will begin to part out this 42 buick let me know what you need. I have two straight 8 engines and two complete drivetrains.
  2. Located in East Tennessee. I have a 1942 buick special sedanette for sale. Has an extra 40 frame and straight 8 engine that turns over. The original engine is tore down but is all there. Has a crown vic subframe but I have a donor front clip to put back original. Lots of spare parts.. Call or text 423 480 0024.
  3. I'm fairly certain after taking some measurements my frame may be a later 1940 and appears to be the same dimensions as my 42.
  4. Hello, I'm needing the splash guard for a 1942 series 40. Do any other makes from the same year fit? Thank you.
  5. Looking at a 42-48 chevy rear fender. I'm wondering if it's the same as my series 40 buick?
  6. The frame clip above is a 42. The question was will the entire 40 frame work. The clip above should.be a direct swap. Thanks for you help!
  7. So this is what I've currently got to work with as far as going back to original using the original frame.
  8. Thanks guys this is the full length as shown in the last photo. I'm assuming some body mounts may be different but if it's the same wheelbase it should work?
  9. Would this be the same for a 42? I can't send PMs yet as I'm new. I can be contacted at tblack@triflight.com Thanks
  10. Hello all, my 1942 frame has unfortunately been subframed with a modern crown vic subframe. I am putting this car back to original. I found a complete running 1940 series 40 chassis. Is it possible to swap this chassis over? My car is a 2 door sedanette. Thanks
  11. I'm needing the rocker arm assembly for a 1942 buick straight 8. Mine is cracked and broke. Thank you
  12. I'm also needing the parking light trim for the 42 if anyone has a source. Thanks
  13. Im needing the chrome trim that goes around the parking light and curves back around the fender. Thank you
  14. Thanks guys I have another truck to finish first, but have been gathering parts for this build. I have been tearing down the old straight 8 to have it cracked checked. Hopefully it is not cracked and still has enough meat to be re bored.
  15. All, I am the new owner of a 1942 Buick series 40 2 door. Overall the body of this car is in great original shape. As far as I can tell this car sat for years and years and was never restored. When the previous owner bought it at an estate it was 100% original. Unfortunately, this gentleman did away with the old front suspension and grafted in a crown vic subframe. Personally, I like cars all original so I was able to locate a 1946 series 40 front clip and suspension. I will be restoring the front end to original. I still have the original straight 8, transmission, and torque tube axle. I am in a dilemma, let me be clear im not into street rods. I appreciate the history of this car and would like to keep her original. The straight 8 does need a rebuild. My problem lies in parts availability for restoration, I don't see many parts made for the torque tube, or the transmission. What is parts availability like for these cars? Would I be better off to swap a more modern drivetrain while retaining the original look on the outside of the car? Thanks for all your help.
