I have an all original 1942 Ford Super Deluxe wagon. After mechanical restoration a few years ago, it sits quite high on its springs. I have been running bias ply tires, and it is quite exciting to drive on two lane roads when you approach 50 mph and trying not to hold up too much traffic.
I have been thinking of switching to radial tires, but I am concerned about adding grip with this ride height. I saw the Nick Alexander car in Huntington Beach a few years ago, and it clearly sits at least quite a bit lower than mine with a wider wheel and tire package. Any advice about what springs, wheels and tires work well on this vintage of Ford wagon would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your help.
