Thank you so much John! Do you know of any YouTube videos or do you have any advise on how to remove the lock from the glovebox without doing any damage?

We lost the key to a 1940 Packard and we are wondering if anyone has had any success in pulling the door lock out of their vehicle of if anyone could provide any direction on how to do this. I have a locksmith who thinks he can help make a new key but he does not want to remove the lock in order to do that. Does anyone have any advise? Thanks!
