  1. There are a lot of companies selling good "used" Buick parts including side trim. Try googling Buick used parts and making a few inquiries.
  2. Three cents for a 6 to 10 ounce pop bottle, five cents for a quart size in my town. Big money back then. We knew where all the neighbors kept their empties.
  3. Looks like a 1946 Dodge...
  4. A very nice ad and a great framing job. I was just wondering if you were aware of the benefits of acid-free mounting board and paper. Often, newsprint and other documents disintegrate over time. Obviously your ad was well preserved, but many people recommend using acid-free mounting materials to prevent further deterioration. "Acid free archival paper can last many, many years and is used in situations where art or documents require a longer life without becoming yellow or breaking down. It's also used commonly in the long term archival storage of art, documents and textiles." Acid-free mounting material information and supplies are available on line and at many local arts and craft stores and might worth considering for your next project. Keep up the good work.
  5. There is never a good excuse for rudeness or poor customer service even if your customer is a crank.
  6. Not in Idaho, but pretty darn close... It drove into a tire shop in town.
  7. Does this car still exist? Mercury Comet Super Cyclone, 1964, built for Fordat Dearborn Steel Tubing for the Lincoln-Mercury Caravan of Stars.
  8. Was the driver of the SUV still inside when the cops saw them? Couldn't have gotten out of the doors or windows...
  9. Never much of a fastback design fan on larger bodied cars. Mustangs, Z-cars, etc are OK. Fairlanes, LTD's, Marlins, early Charger's, ...not so much.
  10. Maybe it's upside-down ?? Could it be from a 1937 DeSoto ?
  11. Is Timberville near Tiajuana? Looks like the interiors we had installed in our street beaters back in the '60's. God!! ...if our parents ever found out!
  12. Anyone have any info or background on this Toronado?

  15. 1959 Plymouth Savoy - $8,500 (Post Falls) "I can only assume the seller is another heliophobe." https://spokane.craigslist.org/cto/d/post-falls-1959-plymouth-savoy/7480453762.html For Sale is my beautiful 1959 Savoy. This is an unmolested, rust free, original with a professionally rebuilt flat head six and a three speed column shift transmission. Radiator and gas tank professionally rebuilt. This car still sports it’s old G-78-14 tires so it needs new tires to be a daily driver. I’ve lost my storage so I’m selling my car. I am asking $8500.00 and will listen to reasonable offers but no low ballers. No text or emails will be answered without a phone call first so I know you are real. Clean title in my hand. Mike 208-65one-9242 1959 plymouth condition: excellent cylinders: 6 cylinders drive: rwd fuel: gas odometer: 65000 paint color: yellow size: full-size title status: clean transmission: manual type: sedan
  16. Nice clean car, if you like '66 full sized Fords. To me, this model year always looked like the designers worked hard on the front 2/3 (side view), went for a long lunch, remembered the deadline, then hurried back to the studio and stuck slab-sided quarter panels with no details on the back 1/3, and called it a day. I much prefer the '65 or '67 ----
  17. I'm sure it would bring $3k - 4k more on either coast, and maybe even more if presented well at auction if the seller would install the correct floor mat, repair the passenger's seat (note board supporting seat back), and detail/paint the engine area.
  18. That fuzzy interior doesn't help to support the asking price. IMO, the wide whites overpower the gray top and make it look dingy. Inch walls might have been a better choice.
  19. 33.85" x 13.78" ---- Is that too big for a Ford 1941 to 1948 ? (sorry, don't have a car to measure...)
  20. More period pictures. This shows the proper emblem in the proper place in 1941 in Georgia and a left front mounted antenna. The bumpers were donated to the WWII scrap metal drive. California, 1942. Again, no bumpers
  21. Unless your sons are different from most, their attention span may not be long enough to complete such an extensive project. Rather than starting with something as complex and labor intensive as structural repair, I'd suggest a running, driving project that could show short-term benefits. Maybe a '70's car that may need minor mechanical repair, some minor body work, or other things that you and your sons could handle as a learning experience. That would give you a chance to evaluate their talents and enthusiasm. Worst case, if they abandoned the project,(in favor of sports, girls, etc), you'd be left with with something salable and not a pile of parts ready for the scrappers. Just a thought - best of luck. P.S. I tried that with my son 20 years ago...still have parts out back!
