  1. Sold new for $399. Weighs 1261 pounds. Seller is asking $10,000. That's $7.93/lb. See video for road test:
  2. This gas station was originally built in 1927 at the corner of Market and Julian Streets in San José, CA. It was part of a chain of Associated Oil Company stations owned by J.R. Chace. In 1930, Max Rosenthal bought the station and put up a garage nearby, although he continued to sell Associated Oil Company products. Rosenthal sold the station to Guy C. Brouse in 1945, who owned it until 1971. The Associated Oil Company station closed due to rising gas prices casued by the oil crisis of the early 1970s. It remained vacant for several years, and was scheduled to be demolished. In 1978, the San José Historical Museum rescued the gas station and moved it to History Park.
  3. $16k purchase price + $100k restoration = $35k woodie. 🤑
  4. Well, most places charge for air. If "inflation" inflation increases significantly, then airless tires might be a good buy.
  5. I think you have to see this one in person. Photos look pretty nice, but there seem to be some rust and chrome problems. These were advertised as the "Big M" back in the '50's; that might stand for "Big Money" to fix the details correctly today.
  6. Non original style interior; mileage not stated; engine size not stated. Minimal photos. Chrome skits would look better if they were in the trunk (with the lid closed). Appears to be a 2-door sedan, not a pillarless hardtop. Not the best deal in town, compared to the red convertible elsewhere on the forum.
  7. I bought a very similar used '59 Galaxie convertible (painted Inca Gold, with a black, gold and white interior and white top, 352 automatic, ps, pb) in 1962 for $1,400, which was my daily driver until I ordered and purchased a brand new Chevy El Camino early in '64 for $3,100. The dealer gave me $1,100. trade-in credit for the Galaxie. I still think it wasn't a bad deal for the time. In 1962, $1400 = $13,800. today In 1964, $1,100 = $10,600. today $3,100. = $29,900. today Note: the new price for the Galaxie Convertible in 1959 started at $2,700. which is $27,700. today. (a real car for the price of a Kia)

  9. I've never owned a Model T, so I am not familiar with them. I was not aware that there were water pumps available for them until I came across this '26 T. I presume water pumps are aftermarket items, as they are still available on line. The question is, are they beneficial on a driver/tourer or will the factory system suffice? I rate dependability over originality in this case.
  10. If you have not already done so, check: all the tire sites on the internet (US and foreign) your local chain store tire dealer your local independent tire dealer the local auto club that supports the particular model of the car you have the national chapter of said club the owners of similar model cars in your area swap meet participants car show participants restoration shops wheel shops/dealers specializing in older cars GOOD LUCK
  11. https://seattle.craigslist.org/est/cto/d/woodinville-1979-lancia-zagato-survivor/7589138336.html Sticker price in '79 was over $13k, that's $53k+ today. Reported mileage is 53,294. Two piece fabric top with "targa" bar. Estate sale.Very original, very complete 79 Lancia Zagato with the Special Edition trim package, a/c, single weber carb and a 5 speed manual (see attached invoice). 2 local owners. Garaged its whole life. This car starts easily and drives ok with no smoke (tho it’s running rich). It needs LOTS of TLC: seats have cracked leather and separated seams; tears in the roof fabric; plastic window is hazy; paint is faded but the body is straight. Patina? Leaks fluids. Good glass; lights all work as do wipers, gauges.I’m selling this for the deceased former owner’s wife. I’m not an expert on this car, and I’ve only given it a quick once over. It looks like a good survivor. I didn’t see very much rust to speak of, but it IS a Lancia, so…If you know Lancia’s, you should take a look for yourself. Car is in Woodinville.$4400 or informed offer. contact name: stace text: (206) 641-1833
  12. Profile choices seem to include location, age, and other things, but I don't see where I can add a quote or cars. Please help, thanks.
  13. Did the law requiring sealed beams in 1940 include all trucks, too? Ford, Chevy, Dodge and IHC pickups had sealed beams.
  14. Hey, Chief: Buick, Olds, Rover?? Are they all the same? Try the Oldsmobile and/or Buiuck forum section elsewhere on this AACA forum and also there are websites dedicated to each and all makes mentioned in your post. Good Luck.
  15. Here's the book you mentioned. (I have no personal interest or stake in the sale of this publication) https://www.fisherguild.com/
  16. While you are thinking about treatments to restore leather, how about vinyl softeners and restorers. I have a 55 year old Buick Wildcat convertible with a stiff (and getting stiffer) original interior. It's still not torn nor significantly cracked and the seams are still holding, but unless I can soften it up, it wont last much longer. Any help would be appreciated. P.S. Color is burgundy.
  17. A brief hi-jack here...I've had times when even my impact wrench will not loosen a lug nut due to the high torque tools the tire shops use. I questioned the shop manager and was told they are concerned about the liability of a wheel coming lose and causing an accident. Extra torque and fewer potential insurance problems overrule the customer's ability to easily service his car. I presume the tight filter situation could have the same cause. (...or the same clown worked at both shops and was told to "muscle down", or else!)
  18. You may have to do some body mods, but one way or another ,they'll fit.
