  1. Will a 235/75 R15 tire fit okay on my 85 riv
  2. Brand new torque converter. Also when engine is running, trans fluid on dipstick is way high and as soon as it goes into gear it drops down to normal level.
  3. Initially I had 2 gallons of ATF in, started it up ran it longer and boom finally went into gear and wheels moved: checked fluid and it was really low so I add 1 more gallon and jeep it running for another 15 minutes. Next day i start it up and put it in gear and nothing. What is going on? Can torque converter get air locked somehow?
  4. Not sure. I would think the transmission place would’ve figured that out if they knew what they were doing?
  5. I just had it rebuilt and having the same issue. Moving through the gears absolutely nothing happens.
  6. 82 Oldsmobile tornados used the same Trannys as 85 rivieras correct ?
  7. Checked torque converter, it’s makin contact with the pump. Checked pressure and have no pressure. Dropped the pan to see if filter fell out and it didn’t. I don’t know what to do now other than drop the whole thing
  8. Thank you for your help. I really appreciate it!
  9. I have an olds 350 motor and a trans out of a 1982 Oldsmobile Tornado. Torque converter is the same one that came with the trans. I’m really thinking when I snugged up the torque converter bolts it disengaged it from the pump. Rather than tearing it all out Am I able to just shim in between the TC and flexplate? Such a bummer.
  10. How do you make sure it engages the pump? I put it in and it spun normally. When I went to bolt up to engine the flex plate was about a 1/2 inch away from bolt mounts of them TC. I’m wondering if I bolted it and tc slid out of the pump shaft. Almost like I have to shim it away from there flex plate?
  11. What is the appropriate gap between flex plate and torch converter.
  12. No leaks or funny noises. As far as it pumping fluid I will have to check tomorrow. Wrapped things up for the night.
  13. Yes. Filled it with fluid before installed as well
  14. Used one from a salvage yard. Was told it was tested and good.
  15. We just put in the new motor and tranny this weekend. As I was shifting through all the gears the transmission wasn’t doing anything, car wasn’t driving. I seen the shift paddle move to different gears so it was shifting from inside car. Hello would be much appreciated.
  16. For my 1985 Buick Riviera Can someone tell me the sizes of the bolts that go from hub to cv axel. One cv side is threaded and one is straight through which I’m assuming uses bolts and nuts.. thank you

  18. Did 82-85 rivieras use the same transmission? I found a transmission out of an 84 and was wondering if that would work with my 85?
  19. Alright Joe, you're the most knowledgeable guy to go to so I am sorry for all the questions haha. Do you know where I can find an aftermarket lockup kit for my transmission? Can you maybe post a link of one? Thank you for all your help!
  20. Wow You're Good. Thank you for your replies. So this wont work for the 85 riv correct?
  21. What kind of transmission is this? I don't see any indication on what it is. Only description I got when I purchased years ago its an Oldsmobile/Cadillac TH 325-L FWD transmission. Mounting is different than my 85 riviera transmission which is a TH 325 4-L I believe.
  22. Does the 307 intake manifold transfer over to the 350? Really don't want to spend the money!
  23. What accessories to put on before engine install? And do you recommend installing with tranny connected to engine?
  24. Sweet, so really my main issue is losing the converter lockup. Do you know where I could purchase such kit and a non computerized carb?
