A good friend of mine and a past Vice President and General Manager of Buick has passed away. Edward H Mertz spent most of his life working for General Motors Culminating in becoming the General Manager of the Buick Division and being directly responsible for a number of cars that helped bring Buick to a younger generation. His wife has asked me to try to find homes for a bunch of Buick and GM items that he collected throughout his life. Not being from that world I'm not sure where to begin. Many of the items are personalized to Ed and are i assume a part of automobile history at some point. A lot of others are not. There are lots of things like plastic cars in different colors that i have no idea what they were for. Pewter cars. tin cars of old Buicks, posters, etc. There even a 47 Buick steering wheel. And a original Daniele Galliano, painting of a 1995 Buick Riviera that was given to him by Nicola Bulgari. Along with a lot more. I'm looking for information on what i should get to a museum. And what is the best way to sell the rest for his wife. And especially I'm hoping a forum of Buick guys can help me identify what some of the items are?
