Terry, I think you are right about the motometer. But the base is definitely very old, and after looking it over carefully I am pretty sure it is original.

I have this antique hood ornament, and was wondering what car this might have been used on. I picked this up about 20 years ago for just a few dollars. Now condensing things getting ready to move, and I am came across it after forgetting all about it. Thank you for any information about this hood ornament.
