  4. Hi to all , I found on the internet a guy called Jim who has a website and does wooden car body frames. His email address according to his website is jim@autowood.net I have sent 3 emails to him over a period of time but they are always returned by the internet provider with a note to say his in box is full. Does anyone know if Autowood still exists or has it closed. If the business does perhaps someone could ask him to try and contact me rayanddenise@xtra.co.nz Cheers
  5. 1929 Plymouth model "U" Does anyone know if there are any plans, kits, books with crossections, or any info at all on the wooden frame over which the coupe body was mounted, This car is in pretty bad shape and most of the wood has rotted away. It is had to tell from the rusted leftover of the body but is there a floor pan which is a separate piece to any of the body work?? Cheers Ray
  6. Hi Murray, I'm sorry I can't advise on your seal but notice you are in Havelock NZ. I am restoring a 1929 plymouth model U coupe but have yet to tackle the engine. I am in Christchurch NZ. I have a few parts that I am looking for. Could you give me an email address or cell phone as I would like to contact you some time. Do you belong to the VCC. Cheers Ray Whiting
  7. HI to all does anyone have a wiring diagram for a 1929 plymouth model "U" or can you direct me to any web site??
  8. Hi Guys, Can someone tell me if the 1929 model U is the same manifold as the 30U. I have 2 engines that came with my plymouth coupe , one has sharper corners on the head and I am told this is the correct engine and this would be the one that I am also looking for an inlet manifold ? I would be happy to buy a cracked or damaged one as I have experience in pattern making and if I could get a sample I could make a suitable pattern and cast one A lot of work but would give it ago. Cheers Ray Whiting
  9. Hi I am restoring a 1929 Plymouth Model U Coupe. There was no carburettor or manifold with the engine so I am looking for both parts. However I was told by one source ( and this is confirmed on on internet site ) that the carb I require is a tillotson FR-1. A reputable carb restorer/supplier in the states says the original cars had a Carter RT-08 but recommends fitting a Carter BB1 as fitted to Later models. Can anyone confirm what is the correct original fitting.
