  1. Howdy and I am looking for 2 pressure rings for the split rim.    Diameter is too large (top) or too small (bottom).  Also; I would like to know if there is another car that uses the same rim?

Any help or leads will be greatly appreciated.

  2. I am preparing to install both intake and exhaust manifold on my 31 model 60.  What should I apply to the gasket (I have cooper) and if there a sequence to tightening the bolts so the exhaust manifold do not crack?  I am new at this but can turn a wrench or two.

  3. Howdy ya'll... I have the leakage on my 31 and I purchased the boot from Bob's.  I currently have the rope seal but it leaking too much.  I put the car on a friends lift and it looks quite difficult to do since I cannot dive in like the other guys.... I must walk into the waters.  I am a Newby at Buicks and I am attempting to fix as many items I can.  I need to do the exhaust, torque ball, steering box, need two pressure rings for my spares, and a few minor issues too.  I read that the rear end must be pulled back in order to replace the boot or ad a seal or silicone it.  If the rear end must be pulled back... to me... that is a task.  I have no helper...just me, myself and I.

Any photos, videos, or information that will make it easier for me....I would be much obliged.  Great information above.  By the way; I do not have a lift but something tells me that I will be needing one.

  4. I used to repair tires in my youth, and some used nothing hold the lockring from flying off.  My brother in law got hit by one and survived; others were not so lucky.  We used chains, ropes, cages out of wood... but the metal cage ( it came later) is the way to go.  If I have to change one them here; I will go to a friend that has a tire shop.  I thank you for the information and the rims are the metal spokes (no wood) and I will keep looking.... there has to be some out there.  Mike

  5. I hear you guys and thank you for all the tips.  I have thought about a few but you guys added very important tips that I would have probably not done prior to starting the car.  Having said that; where do I get the gaskets for the areas that I am going to remove (oil pan, valve cover, etc....

Tomorrow; I plan to take a look at the cooling system.  By the way;  the fuel tank was quite rusty and the fuel intake that mount on the tank looks like it was rigged.  I took the battery off (it was not easy) and the bracket is all worn out.  I am going to try and build one or see if one can be purchased on line.

I am having fun and I will get it started.

  6. I just purchased a 1931 Model 90 (I think) with a motor/vehicle identification number of 29715583.

I have never owned one and I would like to know how to start it.  I have an idea but would like to learn the proper way.  I am in the process of removing the fuel tank (rusted with a pin hole) but will try to start it with a fuel can on the trunk rack.  Also, would like to know where to find parts for the car.  I have looked on the web but chances are that I am not getting the right place.  Any help will be much appreciated and will post pics later..... too many irons in the fire.
