  3. The cowl vent is done. Had to remove the entire vent. The handle was bent and had only one screw holding the handle to vent. The screw was not tight. You could not tighten or loosen the screw. I drilled it out and tap the hole, put it all together, lubed all the hinges. Put the PLY33 spring in, and now it's great. While I was under the dash, I took out the instrument panel, it need some love'n.
  4. PLY33 you are the man. I had no idea it was a compression spring. I thought it was a extension spring. I think I have the fix. Thanks so much greatly appreciated.
  5. I got the vent open and it looks like the screws that hold it to the mechanism are accessed through the outside. There was no screen on the vent. I know there are parts missing. PLY33 mentioned a spring. Can you tell me where it goes. There is a handle with a headed pin on it that looks like it goes against stationary bracket with a notch in it. So I think a spring holds the handle back against the notch. I don't know the size or exactly where the spring goes. Can anyone answer this or what other parts may be missing.
  6. No window on 33, just beg fenders.
  7. I have 1933 Plymouth PC. I think I know how to adjust the valve. I have owned other L6 engines. I want to know if the can be adjusted with the manifold on? It looks as though it would be hard to see.
  8. Thanks PLY33, All good info. I think I will remove the instrument panel It looks a lot easier to work on that way. It also loks like a rats nest in there from whoever work on it. Thanks again. By the way my drivers side window and luck are finished along with my front floor and seat. I rebuilt the wood structure on the front seat.
  9. The cowl vent is not working. I would like to remove it to repair it. Does anyone Know how to remove it? Will I have to remove the instrument panel to work on the mechanism? Also does any one have a diagram of the way it works and parts?
  10. The more I look at this I do not believe the tracks that have go with this car. I am confused as if the 1933 Plymouth PC came with a adjustable seat. An old Plymouth bulletin I have reads 1933 with adjustable seat, I have other literature that says the deluxe model only, that is the PD. Can anyone tell me which is right. Then I will proceed with this project. The rails that are attached to the bottom of the seat frame are not parallel, so they are not part of a slide.
  11. I do not know if these are the proper slides. Nothing was in the proper place when I took them out. I am assuming the way they work. The slide on the bottom has the lock and the top does not. I think the two bars go on top of the frame for the bolts to go through for stability. Like I said no holes that are in the frame line up. I think the slides mount to the rails that are under the frame, but the holes don't line up.
  12. I removed the front seat of the 1933 Plymouth and found it has an adjustable seat. It didn't work and I think it was put in so it wouldn't work. In trying to figure it out there out there are no holes the line up with the mechanism. I can remount it so it works, however I don't know if parts are missing. My question is: there is no lever to rotate the locking part of the seat. I can make this if I have to. The big question is there a rod that goes from drivers side to the passenger side of the seat for a have a locking mechanism. The slide that is in there now has no locking feature. If it locks on one side only I see the side able to move.
  13. Thanks all the door is a finished. I pined the square shaft to make it work as a no lock door. Window and latch work great. I wil look for another handle with a lock. Now onto that front seat. I do not think it was adjustable on 1933 PC. I am now the next smartest guy on that door.
  14. Update: The widow is out the repaired lock latch is back. Waiting for ne channels. I pretty much went the route of Graham Man. Had window all the way up then released the regulator. Moved regulator to the right (toward hinge) to release right roller from track. Lowered the window and regulator to where I could see and removed left roller out through a notch in the bottom of the track. I did need assistance in all of this. My wife held the window while I removed the regulator. Now I have another problem other than getting this back together. The door handle with lock: I have no key, but may have a local locksmith to help. Right now the square shaft turns within the handle, so the handle turns and the shaft doesn't. Any suggestions? I would like to thank all of you for your help and knowledge. What a relief when that widow came out and that lock went in.
  15. I got the window channels out, but still not able to get the rollers out of the track to remove the glass. Does anyone know if you have to loosen the regulator to remove the rollers from the track? This door is killing me from the lock now the window.
  16. I can't seem to find a service manual for the body and windows. I want to remove the passenger window and regulator. I found something for the 1936, but i'm not sure I understand. It sounds like you roll the window up part way and tilt inward and it should release the rollers from the track and finish pulling the widow out. I want to make sure, so I don't break the window. Any suggestions on a manual that has body and window service?
  17. Thanks, you always come through, It's a 4dr sedan. The steel bars make me think it's definitely adjustable.
  18. You might be the man to answer a question, then I'll know what I need. On the front seat of a 1933 plymouth PC how is it mounted to the floor. I believe allthe mechanism to adjust the seat is missing. There is a frame that holds the seat and back rest that looks to be bolted to the floor. There are two steel strips per side on this frame. I can't find any info on this. Correction 1 side has two steel strios and the has one.
  19. I am still looking on any info on the front seat mounting, There is no hardware or anything for the seat adjustment. It seams they just bolted it to the floor. [very poorly] I am also looking for a manual that shows all the body parts and assembly. Im have the mechanics repair manual for 1933 to 1936 cars
  20. I found the broken piece of spring at the bottom of the door. I don't know if I can explain it right, but I'll try. After you undo the tabs and insert the new spring you have to clamp the outside f the tab that backs up the spring. The spring pressure is so great that it will push that tab out when getting it back into the slots. You will only get a few tries before that tab is broke It seems like these springs break a lot.
  21. Articfer Tom, No I do not have a book as of yet. I am waiting for a manual in the mail.
  22. Thanks, that what I'll have to do to start narrowing down what's causing it. It has to be a simple fix. I just keep doubting myself. About did I do this or that.
  23. Thanks, There's about 1" of play. But will check lines. I did blow out the line at the master cylinder when I had them all apart.
  24. Fronts are new. I'll check the backs. I should have done that when I did the cylinders.
