  2. I don’t think it was him . I remember that place on rt 1 in Hobe Sound . My grandparents started going to Tequesta in 1962 and my parents started in 1972. We would stop in and tour the place . The metal building is still there . Jim
  3. Beautiful car. Many happy and safe miles
  4. I might possibly have one . You are correct about the 58 letters. The Bonneville has that written out on the convertible trunk but on the Chieftain convertible it says PONTIAC on the trunk . The letters on a 58 chieftain convertible trunk ONLY fit that car because of the rounded trunk from the Bonneville. Crazy isn’t it
  5. Yes my Pontiac chieftain convertible has the same colors. Ascot gray and Reefshell pink . Great color combo.
  6. I think I remember Ed Wyle saying Art Cazault ? Made the one for my 31 151 . He may have made some others . Not positive
  7. I used sherwin Williams 2 part industrial epoxy with 2 coats of Rexthane clear coat. Nothing touches it . Hot tires , oil, gas, whatever else you can think of. Did it 9years ago and still looks brand new . I worked with my local sherwin Williams salesman and he really steered me in the right direction
  8. Brake and Equipment Warehouse 455 Harrison Street NE Minneapolis, Minnesota 55413 phone 612 378 3141 . I have used them a few times and always happy with the result .

  11. I have a 1931 Franklin with a Gemmer steeering box. It was very worn . The Franklin club set out to make a kit to rebuild these boxes maybe 20 years ago . If I remember right it is an hour glasss worm gear and VERY hard to fabricate today . Some of the club members actually found the machine in Argentina ? and had many sets made . I removed and sent my box to Dick Pratt the owner of ODAT machine in Maine . In my eyes he is an expert on this particular box . He might be someone you may want to contact . Great guy
  12. Very sad news . Condolences to his family
  13. There are plenty of people going to the sale . If you post you could probably get in touch with a few of them . Best to go yourself if at all possible . It is a HUGE sale .

  19. On closed cars there was a medallion on center of upper dash rail on open cars there was a medallion on the instrument panel . This is where the serial numbers are located . Engine numbers on left front corner of block . It may be a body number ? Body number 320 would be a Briggs body and body number 88 would be a Hayes body .
