  1. What’s the measured dia at the outer most points? I have a wheel that had a 16.5 tire. I would prefer rims for a 16 inch tire.
  2. Here's the 1926 Seagrave firetruck with a 6 cylinder Continental engine. The truck has 97 original miles and has been in storage for many years. About 10 years ago the building housing the firetruck burned. The truck suffered paint damage, the tires, upholstery, bed, battery, wiring and manifold were burned. Apparently, when the fire was extinguished cold water hit the hot cast-iron manifold and it was extensively cracked. We built a computer model, a mockup of the block and then built a new steel intake-exhaust manifold. After all the welding and machine work was completed we heat treated the manifold to relieve stress and then machined the mounting surfaces. The photo shows the new manifold, the old manifold and the mockup of the block. The engine last ran 3 years ago with the cracked manifold in place. The part needed is a new glass for the big light mounted on the cowl.
  3. Great save on your part. Back in the day when I was in high school I put brass shims below the mains. My father was a machinist and had the brass shim stock. Prefer not to do that today. Have now found and ordered the full set of .020 main bearings. Thanks to leads posted to this site. Thanks all.
  4. Need the two rear main bearings 0.020 over or larger for a 6 cylinder 208 engine. Have located the first two mains and most other engine parts. Any help would be appreciated. Photos are on the forum site for Projects
  5. Thanks for the leads. I’ll follow up but really enjoyed the Restoration Guide and its history. Great info. The wood below the rear window and that holding the top of the back seat was bad. I’ve used the old pieces as patterns and am replacing it with oak. The floor and other wood parts seem to be solid.
  6. Thanks for the leads. I’ll follow up but really enjoyed the Restoration Guide and its history. Great info.
  7. Thanks. That's who had everything I have but no main bearings.
  8. Here's my '36 Pontiac with a 6 cylinder 208 engine and it has a story. I need main bearings 3 and 4 at 0.020 + to complete the engine. I now have new pistons, rings, valves, rod and cam bearings etc. Here's the story. The car was purchased in 1970 by a 16-year-old. He put it in a barn, removed the doors and replaced the wood in the doors. He removed the fenders and also ordered a one piece wind shield. Problem was this car requires a two piece wind shield. I'm guessing he was disappointed and moved on to other things such as high school, college, marriage and a family. He's been gone for over a decade but his wife says he used to go down and start the engine just to hear it run. Over time the barn collapsed and the wind blown sand of West Texas settled 6 inches deep in the car. Sand buried the wheels 3/4 of their height and buried the fenders sitting in the collapsed barn. I and four friends used shovels and a John Deere 8400 tractor to dig out the car. It's now ready for rebuild. I know others will say just buy a better '36. I have no special attraction for a '36. It's not the destination that drives me but the journey. It's broken and the journey is to fix it. If you can help me find the two rear mains that are oversized by at least 0.020 inches that would get me on the way. Alternately, I have a set of standard size bearings and could have the crank built back up to standard size. I'll need a few other items such as door handles, trunk hinges, garnish molding, etc. Any help or leads to parts would be appreciated. Thank you for any feed back. Thanks for any help.. And this is what it should look like ....maybe!
  9. Thanks guys. We haven’t gotten into the engine yet but the spark plugs are missing and the head is just sitting on the studs. Not bolted in place. Expect to find water damage after all these years. Can bore, sleeve, and grind as needed. Just wondering what might be available. I think it is 3.5 x 5 B&S with 2 main bearings of Babbitt. The numbers are KB161310H ???maybe and 91789110 ??? Maybe. I posted a photo of the tag and you might read the numbers better than I. If you can find a little history for this unit that would be great. We are also rebuilding a 1926 Seagrave firetruck and have built an all steel manifold for it. If interested go to FB group “Restorable cars and barn finds,,,” and search for my name to see more. Thanks.
  10. Here Here's my 1916 ? International firetruck. It has a Lycoming KB 4 cylinder engine. I'm trying to find a source for parts for this engine. The whole thing looks rough but I'd like to make it run again. Any help on parts or engine specs would be appreciated. Alternately, I have a 1927 Dodge Brothers 4 cylinder engine and transmission that could be used to replace the Lycoming. I'm told that the body is a Boyer and you see it needs a little TLC. What do you think? Once in the shop we'll strip it down to the frame and start from there. We'll have the engine, tranny and brakes operational before we go any further. The rest is cosmetic. Thanks for any help.uuui
  11. Need info on a 1916.??? International firetruck with a 4 cylinder Lycoming KB engine. The number appears to be KB161310H. The head has a casting K110 and KG or could be K6. The truck was manufactured by Long Manufacturing, Detroit. The serial number is 789__. Any info on specs, parts etc would be appreciated.
  12. Great info. Thanks I’ll follow up and am learning more every day. Thanks
  13. Thanks for the info; I will follow up. Here's what I have. The engine number is KB 16131OH and the serial number is maybe S ? 89015 or it could be S ? 8911 or S ? 8911? I think the KB engine only has two main bearings. Haven"t gotten into the engine. Trying to learn what the possibilities might be. Are there replacement pistons, rods, crank etc. How have others rebuilt this engine. Or should I be looking for a replacement engine. I do have a very qualified machinist available but we would appreciate tech info on the engine. Thanks
  14. Pictures to follow. Thanks. No idea but know it is a 4 cylinder and have pictures. Will post pictures if I can figure it out.
  15. Looking for a 1926, 27 or 28 open cab International firetruck with a Lycoming 4 cylinder engine or parts and information on this engine.
