2024 Recommended Restaurants while at Fall Hershey
TAKerry replied to starfireelvis's topic in Hershey Meet
I will have to look into this place. We had 2 'mom n pop' Italian rest's. that were our go to's. One was in Lancaster PA. It closed and re-opened right after covid with new management and a new menu. All of the good ole home made recipes were gone. Big disappointment. This is a bit further travel for an evening dinner but if the food is really that good........................ -
Interesting. I had no idea they were local ! Well, kinda local just few miles up the road from me.

There is one way to get the smell out, gut the interior and put in new! -

Me too (Im only 60) but my drive train is a bit shaky. -
Great question. I was naive in my thought process (and my abilities) as I got the motor back from the shop a year ago in July. I have all intentions of getting the car to Hershey🤪 When that date was clearly missed I set my sights on the next year (2 weeks from now), It is much closer to being finished but wont make it there again this year. Maybe next. But it really isnt that far from being on the road. The paint for the hood is literally on the way right now, once I have that in place I am going to get tags for the car. Interior is not finished but I have most of the stuff to do so. That part really goes pretty quickly. I have a buddy coming in from the Chicago area the end of Oct, he has helped me tremendously with the motor work I had to do. I am hoping to be able to let him drive it at least around the block!

From the bad pic's it looks pretty decent. Looks like you could get away with a polish on the paint. New interior is a lot cheaper than a whole car restoration. -

Brakes are finished! Pass side was correct and hooking up the park brake was a piece of cake. It does need a bit of final adjustment. Went to hook up the new speedo cable but ran into a small problem so I moved on. Got my new to me wiper switch installed. New tach wire hooked up and pulled the instrument cluster out for some clean up/light restoration. I was going to paint the housing but I like the way the factory applied fluorescent paint was over done so I just cleaned the rust off and let it be. Up to 1979 all of the gauge clusters were painted light blue on the inside. The 1979 Tenth Anniversary car was to mimic that of an aircraft cluster so the designers decided to go with a red glow. It was achieved by painting inside the can this fluorescent red. 20240923_162959 by Kerry Grubb, on Flickr20240923_162830 by Kerry Grubb, on Flickr20240923_153627 by Kerry Grubb, on Flickr20240924_175823 by Kerry Grubb, on Flickr20240924_160159 by Kerry Grubb, on Flickr20240924_154824 by Kerry Grubb, on Flickr20240924_175653 by Kerry Grubb, on Flickr20240924_180658 by Kerry Grubb, on Flickr

I would'nt imagine this thing will be that hard to sell. -
Those bleachers look nicer than what is at my local track! I had the Jungle Jim Camaro funny car at one point. Every time I see a thread on scale cars I want to dig into my stash of models. Just havent found the time. I suppose one of these days.

I was told by an old school glass guy that polishing is ok, but will not get the big scratches out without risking too much heat and breaking. I like bigdog Bobs post though, and if I knew I had a spare may try that. I bought the windshield for my 79 trans am from auto city classics in Minnesota. They were at Hershey a couple of years ago. Surprisingly when I had a local glass guy do the install he said he could get the same thing locally sourced. I would try to find a local auto glass guy and they may have a replacement.

Its either way early or a bit late, but the Del Valley Olds club puts on a great car show in West Chester, the first part of June each year. The show is for Buick Olds Pontiac and Cadillac only. Its one of my go to's unfortunately I have not made the last 2 years.
