Thank you very much for the help. Mystery solved.

I picked up a whole trailer load of old car parts. Mostly Model T stuff, but there is some old Packard, Model A, and Hupmobile items amongst the items. I cannot figure out what automobile this assembly goes on. The crankshaft looks very similar to a Hupmobile Model 32 I believe. The real mystery is what is the assembly it is attached to? It's obviously some kind of clutch, but it also has a very large stator bolted to it and a matching field. They are magnetic and fit together perfectly. There are also planetary gears that is also a mystery to me. Any help would be appreciated.
