  1. I'm new to the hobby and not well informed. Could you expand on that?
  2. I am no lawyer, etc., but one thing I did NOT see is any language about the states that already have a sunset date on fossil fuel car sales. This aggravates me to the same extent that weed is legal in some states but illegal at the federal level in those states.
  3. Of the multiple sources reporting this, not a single one I found could be bothered to list the bill. So if you want to read it this is the bill: https://www.congress.gov/bill/118th-congress/house-bill/1435
  4. I have 1 quote so far, and it's over $4500 for the 3 pieces I need done. I might just paint the tail lights if I can't find replacements. There's a parts seller in Oklahoma that I believe has stock, but I don't know price or condition. At least I know what I'm not doing.
  5. Whatever or however many there are, it's a great looking car.
  6. I sent a few pix into the Riview so look for them in a future issue (January, maybe?).
  7. While you're changing the washer fluid, make sure to refill your blinker fluid. It goes bad after about 5,000 blinks.
  8. It's supposed to look like chrome. The center bit with the red is a separate piece. This is just trim around the tail lights.
  9. No argument. I'm choosing to go this route unless I find the replacement.
  10. Been looking for these for nearly a year with no luck. Trying to keep the car as close to original as possible, so given the light assembly is nearly impossible to replace with anything better, I might as well get the original redone. Looks like hydrochrome is what I need to search for.
  11. 1973 Buick Riviera GS The trim around the tail lights is flaking off (has been for a while). It's not chrome, and i don't think it's paint. Need to get it restored, since finding replacements is impossible (I've looked). The photos look better than what is now. Finish is flaking off like lead paint used to. What is this finish called and what questions should I ask a prospective restorer?
  12. We ate at a little creperie in town. Au Bon Lieu. Nothing to look at but delicious. There was also another breakfast place next door that was also very good. In Palmyra there's a place called the Filling Station, an old style diner that was very cheap and good. There is a restaurant at Hershey Park (but you don't have to go into the park to eat). STAY AWAY. It's way too touristy (it wasn't my choice).
  13. I sent a few photos from my day there to the Bugle. It may appear in a future issue.
  14. I've recently become infatuated with the Torino. Specifically the Starsky mobile. My question is that based on the photos I've seen, there are no opera windows on the Starsky car but there ARE opera windows on other 1976 I've seen. Was that an option or did the Starsky cars get modified in that regard?
  15. I don't have parts access. I'm guessing that you might find them from a Buick dealer, since that is the last generation and it's not that old. I'd certainly call your closest Buick dealer. Failing that, OldBuickParts.com, and a few other websites might help. There is also classified ads in both the Buick Bugle and Riview, the club magazines. You didn't mention trying to do a parts correct restoration so aftermarket parts should be relatively easy to obtain, despite the low sales numbers. I'm following this because I have similar dashboard issues with my 1995.
  16. The ez-pass type product works on every toll road east of the Mississippi (according to my brother the trucker). They all are linked to your credit card and will reload. In Illinois the cash rate is 2x the ez-pass rate so it is well worth it. Western states have different ones, and the OK one only works in OK. It's an idiotic system, IMO.
  17. In a world of social media influencers, I wonder how many of these photos/videos are done for entertainment purposes.
  18. Contact your regional director and see what's up. Their information is in the back of the Riview.
  19. Last year's was a pretty good turnout, over 30 Riv. I hope they get 50 this year. I will not be in town that weekend.

  22. I'm guessing they regretted that model name although I have seen one and it seemed like a nice car.
  23. That's in October, right? Anything annual in that area in the late spring or june?
