  1. I would agree with Ben All the front end parts are tight, NOT loose at all, and king pins are not loose OR binding, I did have binding king pins on a 1959 Chevy pick-up, kind a strange feeling when driving and turning. Rotate each tire while car is jacked up and look real close at tread on each tire for runout, it does not have to be much to give you a vibration just my 2 cents Bob
  2. Sad day indeed I also have the same feelings as Bill, and probably many others do also. I lost a lot of interest in NASCAR after Dale Earnhardt died. I remember Dale coming to a local race at Grundy County Speedway in Morris, Illinois and they had a special grudge match between Dale and Mark Martin, and Dale told the crowd of fans, better get a phone book for Mark to sit on so he can see out the windshield and touch the pedals, that statement got a big roar from the crowd. Bob
  3. Thanks for posting the photos Bob
  4. Bob is the TRICO man and a great guy to deal with @pont35cpe is the one who steered me toward him. Bob
  5. I contacted Bill Kubik about his '58 Limited, his car came with Air Poise suspension and was later converted back to coil spring, no "V" on ACC area of body tag, however manual lift control knob and cable is still there just as @lancemb said, as are the air lines and valves underneath the car. Bill's car came with almost every accessory, Autronic eye, Wonderbar radio, power antenna, air conditioning, and yes Air Poise suspension, but no codes at all in "ACC" spot, very strange indeed I will attach photo of data body tag in case it helps. Bob
  6. Great information rocketraider DiamondDaveG, please post some photo's of your recent purchased car Bob
  7. According to Cadillac Master parts book group #38-6000 wiper arm, passenger side part #146-3082 Trico #88726-1 only fits 1954 model year all series Hope this helps, Bob
  8. Frank DuVal thank you for the link, pretty cool, Do most prefer Model 15 because it is easier to use with levers on top to select code numbers? Does Model 15 with 2 different angle cuts, a person would need 2 different Curtis cutters? joe_padavano, NTX5467,& Frank DuVal I thank all of you for your great knowledge of information. Bob
  9. Friend of mine was given a briefcase with the Model 14 key cutter with #1121 round disc, auto key code book 22nd edition, and additional envelopes from each additional year, with key codes from 1972 thru 1980, and 7 carriages pink RA,black CA, red GM A B C D, red GM , green FML 5432, red/black CB and another black DS. What year is Model 14 Key cutter from? The book has also has instructions on how to use the key cutter, and the B-10 key blank section starts with code 8000 and up Another friend told me that Curtis has a code book that goes back to code 2910 for B-10 key blanks, what edition code book would have these early codes? I did see a topic from 2017 from @Joe in Canada and a reply from @joe_padavano with information on this Model 14 key cutter. I also seen @NTX5467 have information on other topics about this Key Cutter Model 14. Any information on this unit would be appreciated, Bob
  10. In the 1958 product school manual has a photo on page 19. Bob
  11. @38Buick 80C Do you know what the code for Air Poise should be? In a junkyard close to me is a 1958 Roadmaster 75 that had air suspension but was converted back to coil springs, I am going out to that junkyard soon and I will get photo of body tag to see if it has code for air poise. Back in mid 90's I removed the air compressor, power steering pump and pressure hose (pump attaches to the rear of air compressor, and compressor drives power steering pump) all brackets and head bolt with stud on it for bracket to mount on, air tank and front level sensor, because I had intention to install air compressor on my "58 Special just for a conversation piece, that never happened, but I still have all the parts. Does your color and trim album have a stained looking front cover on book? Local BCA member Bill Kubik has a 1958 Limited he just painted and was at the Buick National in Lisle Bob
  12. ChrisRVA Thank you for posting your photo's Your picture with 2 different clips as parts manual describes listing The one you found at Fusick Did you locate the other one and if so where? Bob
  13. @Jolly_John I really liked the air suspension addition for 1958 and the Flight Pitch Dynaflow, both were problematic when they came out and Buick had conversions with detailed parts list for both to try to make customers happy. Bob P.S. John, I have a Kent-Moore #J-6741 axle jack, to aid so transmission could be removed more easily, Geeee I wonder where I got that from? Ha Ha Ha.
  14. @ChrisRVA I have a 1955 Oldsmobile parts book here is what it shows: I also have a 1956 Buick parts book to compare part numbers 1954-1955 Rear reveal trim clips All (EXC. Convert & H.C. both 2 door models) Clip LOWER part #4648731 X12 Same as Fusick #8731 1954-1955 Rear reveal trim clips All (EXC. Convert & H.C. both 2 door models) Clip UPPER part #4631953 X7 (I googled part number no hits) ChrisRVA 1955 Buick Special 4 door sedan Model #41 shows same part numbers as Oldsmobile BUT clips are different for upper and lowers, please could you post a photo of your upper clips and lower clips? Under you hood firewall area is a body tag, could you post photo of that or list number on that tag for us? Bob
  15. How did the area the rubber plunger came in contact with look corroded or damaged that would cause the seal when operating back and forth would damage the seal and cause it to leak prematurely Bob
  16. Williams made some hand tools (sockets and wrenches) for Snap-On, years ago I special ordered large size socket from our Snap-On tool man and when it came in it was a Williams socket with Snap-On number made into socket, but clearly marked "Williams" I had a Uncle that the company he worked for his whole career (unheard of today) was the CTA (Chicago Transit Authority) he worked in the Bus repair shop, he said CTA had a contract with Craftsman to make all there hand tools were all marked "CTA" in bold letters, looked just like a Craftsman hand tool, if they broke a tool they could not go to Sears and have it replaced, they would turn it in to a supervisor, and then would be given a replacement. Bob
  17. Steve, thanks for your quick reply, as always you have great photos with your projects I am sure that may help NC-car-guy, as well as Smartin with his help Any corrosion or rust accumulated on area that o'ring sits on the pick-up/strainer? Bob
  18. I did see NORS valves for sale. Napa sells seal for heater control valve, Balkamp part #BK-6601000 for $10.65, Napa by me has it in stock, OR order and pick up at your Napa store. Here is a link step by step procedure to rebuild Ranko heater control valves from Packard: https://packardinfo.com/xoops/html/modules/archive/content.php?ContentID=253 Bob EDIT: I used a little RTV sealant between O'Ring (both sides of O'Ring) so when installing heater control valve to heater core it gave me a little more of a cushioned seal when 3 nuts were tightened on my 1962 Electra
  19. I have no tips other than a faulty radiator cap possible being the culprit. I highly doubt you would have filthy coolant I would contact Delco Joe in Wisconsin, he is very knowledgeable guy and is willing to talk and discuss items about heater control valves, maybe he might have a idea why you are having issues, he also rebuilds Ranko valves. Bob EDIT: Delco Joe rebuilds Ranko heater control valves also.
  20. Please reply once you do remove back glass reveal moldings so we can verify the different clips that are on yours, and photo's would be great also. If I come up with some answers and photos I will post them so you will have advanced information before you take yours apart. Bob
  21. I looked up the part number #1175175, google showed nothing, but I knew it would be a long shot No size information for the o'ring/seal listed in Buick master parts book Try contacting @Stephenca118 on this forum, last year he did a LOT of repairs on a '57 Century including gas tank, BUT has not been here for awhile and is also on Classic Oldsmobile forum, I will visit on that forum and see if is recently active. here is the link: Bob
  22. Difference for sure, "Specials and Century" the smaller series usually share a lot of parts Super and Roadmaster the large series share some parts Excluding front fenders, hood as such, because Roadmaster is longer. Back glass shows different part numbers from 2 door to 4 door on Specials and Century's , the same on Super and Roadmaster between 2 door and 4 door. (SOME of these parts are Shared with Oldsmobile) ALSO different part numbers for "Clear" glass and EZ Eye glass (NO SIZE dimensions for back glass listed in parts manual) @buickbrothers the CARS clips MC89 did you use those all the way around the back glass for reveal moulding, and if so how did the secure the bottom of the reveal moulding? is it loose on bottom? The 1955 Super we are working on "Lower" clips look different, and part number confirms lower reveal moulding clips has different part number (lower moulding feels loose when installed) than the side and top clips for reveal moulding Bob @MStuartk were you able to find your complete style number from body tag under hood by firewall area? (Example: 554469) EDIT: parts book shows top and side clips 1 part number, Lower inner another part number, and lower a 3rd part number can you post photo of each one? so it would be 3 different clips
  23. @MStuartk can you give us your complete style number from your body tag from under hood/firewall area @buickbrothers I will look up back glass in Buick master body parts book and advise, you may be onto something on size of back glass Bob
  24. Thank you @buickbrothers for confirming, and a photo would be great Do you have a source to purchase the lower clips for back window reveal moulding? Thank you Bob
  25. I would contact @Riviera63 on this forum Bob
