Good luck in your search. Have you tried to find it? Maybe you could do a vin search… idk. Privacy laws might prevent you from contacting the current or any prior owners.

I skimmed this thread. Very interesting project. You go guy! I’m looking forward to seeing more progress.
Is it a Special or Super? -

Frank, I don't know the answer to your question. BUT I sure would like to be a "fly on the wall' as you do this build. I have often thought of the same.
What part of the country do you call home?
Ben
Eastern Tennessee, not far from Knoxville. My wife and I have been here 3-1/2 years. Before that IL, WI, IL, KY and MO, in reverse order. 😃

Did I not ask my question correctly? I mentioned in another thread that I am interested in doing a repower of an old Chevy pickup with a Buick 8. I’m thinking the larger displacement 320 would be better but I want the advantages of the 53-later Dynaflow. Thanks!

Infrequent contributor here. Hypothetically speaking, if I have a 1952 320 from a Roadmaster, can I mate it to a 1953 Twin-Turbine Dynaflow from a Special?
Or mate it to any twin-turbine trans?
Thanks!

Thanks all.

FYI, this deal fell through. Actually I could not go get it before he sold it to someone else. You snooze, you lose.

This tag is on a 1937 2-door sedan. I suppose the 44 indicates 40 series (Special). What about the 11?
Thanks!

Thanks joelj. That is useful.

Maybe this has been covered already: In the period 1949-53-ish, what GM models had which bodies? A, B, C, whatever? A link to a reference somewhere? Thanks!

Did not see my photo, @50ChevyFrank? I see it that it is uploaded. I have checked it. Thanks.
Thanks! I see it now. Great looking car!

The Marquette was introduced in 1929 and titled/ registered in some states as 1929 models. At least that’s what I read on Macs Garage…

Your picture did not come through.

Not terrible. It’s hard to make curves with square edges.

I have not actually bought it yet… but have seen pictures. It’s a mostly original car. Still has a 235, Powerglide and 6 volt battery. Repaint sometime in the past, but still has original interior that needs work. Some trim and spare parts in trunk. And currently not running…. But for sale at a good price. Please give me your impressions and advice. Thanks!

Do you still have these?
Why are these two different sizes?

Beautiful car. I love 53 Specials.

Thanks

A guy on FB is selling his 48 Super 4-door sedan. What engine will that have? 263?
Thanks!

Cool 53 Special. My folks had a 53 Special 4-door w Dynaflow for a few years when I was a kid (age 8-11). I have loved 53 Buicks ever since. Have fun with it.

My Grandmother subscribed to National Geographic when I was a kid. They used to run articles on Airstream tours and I liked picking out the cars hauling them.
Not a lot of heavy duty muscle cars there.
The travel trailer owners in my town did usually have a standard shift car when the models were available.
Oh, trailers and anatomy were things I studied at Grandma's.
Interesting image. Does anyone see a Buick? I think I see a 55 Chevy, 56/7 Pontiac, 51-54 Desoto, and maybe a 56 Olds. I don’t recognize any others.
Back in the day most RV trailers were towed by cars but now it’s all trucks.

Nothing yet Ben. Thanks. Maybe someday.
