  1. I have a 56 super convertible. The receptacle/connector is for one of the rear quarters.......all of the windows ,except the drivers, use the same single switch connector. Thanks
  2. I'm in search of a power window switch CONNECTOR for a 1955-56 Buick......pretty sure the same connectors were used in most of the Buick models. Photo attached. If anyone happens to have one, would much appreciate hearing from you. Thank you, Larry

  6. Do you have the radio antenna available? Thanks Larry
  7. Does anyone have a left hand rotating trunk lock cylinder and key set for a 1955-56 Buick Super or Roadmaster. I have a used L.H. cylinder but no working key. Locksmiths tell me they can not rekey. Thanks, Larry

  9. Agree.....It should be easy to fabricate a new piece. Planned to use a short piece of angle iron stock. Thanks.
  10. The planets have finally aligned.....I now have seat tracks from a 56 Buick Super convertible. Thank you for all of your responses and suggestions. I'm still in need of a couple of small items.....namely one of the small brackets that bolts to the bottom of the seat frame and supports the horizontal equalizing rod. I have he passenger side bracket shown in the attached pics. I'm in need of the driver's side bracket which is a mirror image of the passenger side. Also I believe there is an addition smaller diameter rod that connects between the two sides of the equalizing rod. If anyone has one of these items or may know where to find one, would really appreciate the help. Thanks to all again, Larry
  11. Do have the front seat tracks. Thanks, Larry
  12. Help!....Does anyone have any horizontal (2-way) power seat tracks or any PHOTOS of the Horizontal (2-way) seat tracks used in the 56C convertibles. I'm in need of the tracks and don't know what they look like. The attached photo shows a portion of the installed tracks prior to disassembly. Unfortunately I didn't do the disassembly and the tracks are missing. I'm guessing there are other 2 door Buick models that also used the horizontal power tracks. Thanks, Larry
  13. Thank you to everyone for your responses. I'm really at a loss here having not done the disassembly and getting to see what the 2-way tracks actually look like. I'm guessing I could make a manual track work. I've been offered a pair of slides from one of our thoughtful members but just do not know if they are the correct type. I've included a couple of photos. I'm guessing these tracks are from 6-way seats. Can anyone verify that for me. Does anyone happen to have a photo of a 2-way power seat track? Thank you all again, Larry
  14. I'm currently restoring a 1956 Buick Super Convertible. The car was in a mostly disassembled condition when I bought it.......most of resto parts were included. Unfortunately, I'm missing the front seat tracks. This model was equipped with the 2-way power seat option. I do have all the seats and power seat motor/actuator screw. What I'd like to know is if the seat tracks that are used for the 2-way power seats are unique ........or are they the same tracks used for the manual actuator seats. I have not found any photos, drawings or description of the 2-way seat operation. Hometown Buick does discuss the 6-way seats in detail but not much info on the 2-way. I'm wondering if they just use the same manual seat tracks and drive the seats fore and aft with the electric drive screw. If that's the case I can more likely find some replacement tracks. I've attached a photo of the seat before it was disassembled that shows a portion of the original seat track and a photo of the existing seat actuator. Really appreciate any info or help. Thanks, Larry
  15. Wanted to buy. 2-way power seat tracks for a 1956 Buick Super (56C). Thank you, Larry
  16. I'm in need of 2-way power seat tracks for a 1956 Super (56C). Does anyone have any available or know of a possible source. Thank you, Larry
  17. I'm trying to replace the horn button clear lens on a 1940 Buick Series 70. Can anyone tell me how to remove the small chrome retaining ring that retains the steering wheel "Monogram" & Crystal Lens. See the attached photos. The retaining ring is indicated by the small screwdriver. There appears to be a small tab on the reverse side of the ring.....just not sure how it works. Thank you, Larry
  18. There are two bolts that secure the back of the top hinge housing and one bolt that secures the back of the lower hinge. They are 5/16-24 fasteners....they do not necessarily need to be Philips head. The fasteners do need to be installed before the door hinge stop is installed. See attached photos. The fasteners shown are temporary for fit-up and are not the final head type and lengths.
  19. Thank you for your helpful reply. I was hoping that with the door installed there would be enough leverage to rotate the hinge....just didn't want to force it. Question on the spring washers........Are they installed on the pins.....under the door stop slotted arms...... to maintain outward pressure/tension on the arms or is the purpose to minimize wear.
  20. I'm reinstalling the top front door hinges on my 56 Super Convertible. The top hinges appears to be made up of two pieces.....the actual rotating hinge arm that bolts to the door and a spring assembly that engages with two pins inside the hinge arm assembly and is then bolted to the arm. I'm guessing the spring assembly is the door stop ( I didn't disassemble the car). With the spring assembly in place and attached to the rotating hinge arm, the arm is in the "open" position and I have very little hinge arm motion. I cannot close the hinge by pushing on it. I'm not sure if the problem is the fact that it takes a great deal of force to move the hinge once the spring assembly is in place or if I've assembled it incorrectly. I've tried to close the hinge using a lever arm without success. I have not installed a door onto the hinge to see if it's added weight and leverage will cause the hinge to close. I'm concerned it may cause damage if I've assembled it incorrectly. See attached photos of the hinge assembly. Would appreciate any input. Thank you, Larry
  21. I guessing there are not of lot of readers that have an interest in this, however, for the record.....The tail light housings for the 1956 Buick Super ( and I believe the Roadmaster as well) are the same part .....5947011.
  22. I'm trying to determine if the left and right tail light housings for the 56 Buick Super 56C are the same Part Number. I believe they are both P/N 5947011 but have been unable to find any verification. Thank you, Larry
  23. MrEarl......thank you for your reply. For some reason was unable to view the thread you provided. I'll look through the HB literature. Sorry, we can't show this content because you do not have permission to see it.
  24. I'm in the early stages of reassembling a 1956 Buick Super Convertible. Does anyone know where I can obtain a Buick Factory Assembly Manual that covers the 56. I'm looking for Assembly drawings/ Exploded views for the entire car. The factory assembly manuals seem to be available for most other vehicles....can't seem to find one for the 56 Buick. I did see on line that there are Buick Master Body Parts Books and Mechanical Parts Books available for that year. I don't know whether these publications provide the detailed drawings or not. Thank you for any help Larry
