  1. I got your point...now is a good time to exchange the things you don't need/want for something you do. However, I either don't have things or don't want to to move them so it doesn't really affect me.

  2. Just so you know, the car I photographed is a 1951. The 1949 has a different grill and bumpers, and possibly rear fenders as well. It's actually not easy to find one that hasn't been heavily modified.

  3. I've been involved in various hobbies my entire life... literally, my brother got me started at 5 days old. I have so much in my collections that I had to rent two storage units to hold them. I don't regret anything I've got, but I do regret what I didn't buy.

Although there is some regret in spending so much on these various hobbies that I never have enough for a car. I don't regret having them, just the priority levels I've given things could have been planned better.

  4. Never in an old car, but did drive through something similar on I75 on the way back from the Snook's Dream Cars museum in Ohio last year.

I love being in the car in a heavy rainstorm, and I do have films...not sure how to post them from my tablet though.

Edit: Now on my computer, I was able to do it. I forgot that I recorded it as a timelapse. The heaviest part I don't have on film, I was taking still pictures and in the museum.

  5. I'm saving as much as I can, hoping to pounce when the time is right. It'll take me a while to save that much, hopefully it will coincide with the glut Matt is predicting. Knowing myself I'm not sure I will have the willpower to not spend it on my other hobbies first, though.

  6. Oh believe me, nobody wanted to steal that! Although they did steal the hood ornament while it was parked on the street in front of my house.

I also remember the headliner falling down and hitting me on the head on a regular basis...and then my dad ripping it out by hand and just having bare foam after that. The joys of refusing to spend more than $400 on a car, even in the 1990s.

  7. I live in the Hudson Valley, have my entire life. I tell people I'm from upstate because they automatically assume NYC otherwise. Only once have I ever actually encountered anyone while traveling who knew the difference. NYCers generally do consider us upstate, even though my house to Times Square is 1 hour 18 minutes away.

  8. I'd love to get my hands on that, clean it up and take it to every cruise night I could find. A four door Edsel is one of my dream cars. If I could just convince myself to stop spending so much in my other hobbies I could do it within a few months, probably.

I got one of those promos back in February. They are still out there...still has the original box, too. They were made of acetate and warp badly but mine has only a little warping.

or maybe is just "Totally Mechanically Inept" (C). I know some people like that.

Raises hand. I am one of those people. I have health related circumstances, but I still feel like a total failure for not being able to do even the simple things. It's going to haunt me for the rest of my life. And people wonder why I'm never happy...
