Tried high temp copper rtv, didn't work and I wrapped the joint with epoxy muffler tape over the joint, back to the drawing board. Thanks

I tried using graphite but must have used the wrong stuff, it just melted and blew out, When I got the parts the 3 pieces did not fit together well (probably offshore manufacture) when they did fit, it was loud and got louder. I understood that as the parts warm up, they expand and it goes quiet. Is there a specific graphite and where to get it? I am trying header tape.
