Joining the conversation, from Sailors Falls, near Daylesford, Victoria. August 7th,2019. Am a freelance motoring writer/photographer. Was told by friend, an ex VICRAIL train driver, who had seen this 1936 Dodge Railcar at the Daylesford Railway Workshop. I have visited a couple of weeks ago , taken photos and have more of the story. The car now has a replacement engine from a Dodge truck and a crash gearbox, also replaced. The body is about to be sent to Melbourne to a Classic car restorer for body and trim work.The Marketing Officer says they , (volunteers with this Tourist Railway) hope to have the vehicle completed within 18 months ready for tourist rides at their Sunday market/train rides.I am writing a media story with an emphasis on looking for some funding from train enthusiasts.
