  2. Thank you guys so much for your valuable information. Apparently the car is a rare one. Hopefully I can help the heirs achieve a good sale.
  3. I know it is a 1938 Chevrolet Master Deluxe. Can this description be narrowed further? I’ve been told that the two tail lights, spare tire, and rumble seat is a rare combination. I am trying to ascertain a value, as the car is in an estate. I’m not asking for an opinion of value, though you are free to give one. Primarily I need to know as precisely as possible what it is. Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge.
  4. Are you still looking for a coupe? I am working with the family whose father passed at 82 two years ago. He has a beautiful 1938. It has a rare rumble seat and spare tire configuration. You can call me at (540) 493-8756 for more information. Located in Salem, Virginia.
  5. Are you interested in selling it?
  6. A fellow mechanic has passed away. His daughters have no interest in his cars and have asked me to help dispose of them. There is a beautiful 1955 Buick. It is not original, but every step has been an upgrade. Located in Salem, Virginia. He also has a nice 1938 Chevrolet.
  7. Exactly right: for Model A and model T.
  8. Detroit diesel overhead tuning set for 53 and 71 series Detroit diesel engines.
  9. Love the hammer in the picture! When all else fails….!
  10. I joint installer for Chevrolet, (1930s)
  11. This is an Oldsmobile drain plug socket for early (1960-1963?) oil pans.
  12. If you can use it, I have a complete transmission from a 1934 series 60 Buick, including pressure plate. You can call me at (540) 493-8756. I am located in Roanoke, Virginia. The transmission has been stored in my basement garage since removed from the vehicle. I haven’t opened it up, but the car ran and shifted good. Let me know if you want to pursue it.
  13. I have a good transmission from a 1934 series 60, complete, including the pressure plate. It came out of a car with about 36,000 miles on it that ran well, but the owner wanted a 350 Chevrolet in it. I also have a fuel pump, clutch pedal, brake pedal, other miscellaneous parts. You can call me at (540) 493-8756. I am located in Roanoke, Virginia. Where are you located?
  14. Was the owner of that car before you an insurance salesman?
  15. Perhaps the 57/64” size that Herbrand made would fit. It is designed for early Buick eights, but might be what you need. Check eBay. If you can’t find one, I know I have a couple, if I can find them.
  16. I’ve got coffee cans of old bolts. I could never throw them away. I’ll check, but it is hit or miss if I can find them fast. Forty-five years accumulation can take a little time to go through.
  17. I have a good transmission from a 1934 60 series. Call me at (540) 493-8756 if you are interested. It should fit. I am in Roanoke, Virginia.
  18. Point failures, in my experience, were due to the points building up deposits on the face and sticking. A point file and bender would fix it until they could be replaced. The same with distributor caps and rotors. A little judicious filing brings them up until you can get around to replacing them.
  19. There is a lot of valuable information here regarding the distributor. I would certainly remove it and recondition it. But I would also not neglect the fuel system. If the car has sat for an extended period of time, you may have rust in the lines that intermittently blocks fuel, or water in the tank. If thorough reconditioning of the distributor doesn’t work, I’d look there.
  20. Rear end sold. I still have the transmission from the 1934 60 series and some miscellaneous parts like fuel pump, fan with hub, brake and clutch pedals, that’s about all that is left.
  21. I probably do. I’ll check in the morning.
